The what-not-shop is covered in dog hair. i am covered in dog hair. After wrestling with a seventy pound dog for an hour and a half my sanity is all but gone. I was saving the last of my guiness for a better occasion than this; but alas, it is gone too... heh, project anubis is off and running.. if you can call the endevour running.. We did manage to get a makeshift template together for the undersuit and padding; however, for tomorrows session ive called in the big guns - in this case a 100lb nurse named Sophia that takes no prisoners and happens to be Sirius' best friend here (she spoils the ever lovin sh*t out of him). So tomorrow at 1900 hours we begin anew in our quest to create doggie armor, with fresh help and hopefully Valiums all around.. just kidding.. (but seriously). In all honesty Sirius will never be able to wear the complete type 1 suit; our staff doctor has been helping with the project and i finally agree with her that the design will have to be integrated w the next crop of puppies at age 3-6 mo. The HUD (heads up display) will have to be a natural and organic concept to the dog. However i was pleasantly surprised that Sirius let us put a gas mask on him with an ACH on top - without a muzzle even, of course he only wore it for 20 or so seconds but it was enough for sizing.

Here are the concept drawings as promised in my first entry:

My biggest lesson today in canine physiology is how friggin pliable dogs truly are. They ripple with motion, and their parts are more flexible than ours. The undersuit is going to make or break this project, and my concept drawings / wire designs only show the intended outer skeleton.. so ironically the manuscripts previously compiled on humans are worthless as a reference at this point... (so much for the anisodactyl theory) Anyway the project is all going to boil down to sewing during Phase one - Yay.

About the only thing we know for sure at this point is what the helmet will look like - its the only part of the dog that stays put. Oh, and the side satchels, they are stationary.. as well as the processor case.. Hey, all in all thats not bad! Honestly with enough gel inserts we can keep the MJOLNIR style chest and back piece designs intact, however they will require several divisions with a type of multi-directional joint between that retains strength under push/pull/torsion.. at a loss for the moment but remain very optimistic.. For now i will be content ordering a dog backpack online, sewing pieces of an acquired life-vest inside the satchels, and heading to the pool for traditional therapy (the airforce is gonna loove that one im sure.. ) Anyway thats all for now; im off to play some much deserved War for Cybertron after an even more deserved shower.

I have never heard of a build for a dog before.... Make sure it is sturdy. Whenever I try to put anything on my cat (especially over its head) it tries to rip it off. You also can bet that it will resist you when you try to finally equip it all on the dog. Other than that, good luck!

oh these dogs are designed to resist lol.. thanks for the luck. no progress to report, we are currently forward and Sirius is resting happily at the rear.
