What are you interested in making? There's a ton of links and references on here, it's just a matter of tracking them down.

Good luck getting something done before Halloween. Unless you don't work or go to school, in which case you might just get it done by then. However your first project may go a little slow until you get some techniques down. If I was you I would make a plan to have one done for Halloween 2011. I am a NOOB too but I have been doing this for a while and I would be all for giving you some helpful hints as you get started on something.

Well I'm actually in Niles Mi so I'm only about 45min- an hour away. I haven't done too much so far, however I did just finish making my odst helmet, so it's painted, it has the visor, and only needs one or two more things. Anyways if your interested I'm not too far away.

Getting a suit done by Halloween is possible but you will have to cut some corners. Low def models, maybe mix in simple cardboard design for minor piece (IE: the halo reach build bicep pieces, build a simple squarish model from cardboard, and then pep a simple shoulder attachment to go over it, that way the shoulder attachment gets the most attention). depending on the amount of free time u have, it could take days to get certain pep pieces done, so plan for that and go with models that have big pieces to fold. Use Rondo instead of fiberglass resin+ Mat (after you resin the pep of course) to strengthen the inside of ur armor. I'm a noob too and just started my first set armor of Halo reach Noble 6(with a couple changes of my own). I've learned A LOT off these forums, so do a good amount of research around the forum before you delve straight into a project (make sure you know the steps). But if I can make a suggestion an excellent suit to go with that is not as full armored and has lots of quicker peps are the Halo Marines. Your not as glamorous as a Spartan or ODST but it IS a quicker route to a costume done by Halloween. Make a few armor pieces with the helmet(which is actually optional), get a army suit attach said armor pieces, You would even have enough time to get some low Def models of weapons done too! The pepakura files for the Halo Marines can be found here: http://halocostuming.wikia.com/wiki/Pepakura_File_Index
