i used the same as the strapping for the stickies. it worked well but had some issues with the shoulders wanting to spin on my arms. i think that possibly adding a strap across the front would have secured it better. the boots held up sooo well. i was really happy with them being really flexible and comfortable and we were walking around for about 12 hours in them and they held up well and our feet didn't hurt or anything. going to make templates for them and put them up in case others want to make them.

Now that is a set of templates I'll be eagerly awaiting. You've done some fantastic work and I thank you for your willing to share with the rest of us.

That would be awesome! Oh, and I'll need a set of templates for your wife's Kat suit now that the wife wants one. :cool

Your family makes a brief appearance at 2:55 in this video.
There were a lot of really great costumes at Dragon Con! I've very impressed.

Now that Dragoncon is over what are you going to do now?

well once again i think i am going to bite off more than i can chew... sat down with the family and asked "what do we want to do next year?" the response was a costume for each day.. uggg i had to ask. going to stay with the halo for one day. then we all decided on a family gears day.. so i am going to do gears for all of us. then one day of what we want to do on our own and my wife and i decided to do Deunan Knute and Briareos Hecatonchires from Appleseed. my son is going to do Altair and my daughter wants to do Sonic. so allot on my plate.. going to be a fun year..

We need a local place where we all can meet up and help each other build stuff. Like how the maker people do it.

You should always ask that question with this disclaimer: "You have to help me make it."

that would be cool but knowing me i would get to talking and cutting up i wouldn't get anything done.

i should have and i know that they will help once it is down to the wire.. my son is the worst at waiting to the last minute.

My wife and I LOVE that couple. Really can't wait to see THAT build.

i have a poster in my shop with the two of them and when my wife and i were in the shop talking about it she pointed to the poster and said, "i want to do them i love how they look together." all i could do was grin..

this is just beautiful. i need to drive to your house and watch you work lol great job!

thanks.. more than welcome over.. i have a young man right now that won my Carter helmet (copy of that is) in a raffle that has been coming to the house and i have been showing him how it is done.. he will be a future 405th-er. he has started on a low res master chief helmet that is coming along. i ordered some aqua resin for him to use so i don't have to worry about toxic fumes.

Thats awesome! I may PM you at some point and see if we could meet up. I am interested in learning the foam method and such, and would love to see how you do it.

OK i am working on the templates for the reach boots i made.. i am having troubles with translating my drawings to digital and maintain the scale. when i went to college it was all done on a drafting table and with a big sheet of paper and drafting tools.. yes i am old.. don't judge. not to mention my cad software is SO old that it will not run on my computer. so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

I am sure you can find some free software to go with your hardware. I am sure if there was a place to meet up we would all sit around and talk I have seen some really good ideas start off that way. With your template can you scan it then open it with a 3d program save it then open the saved file with pep. Just an idea
