Does anybody know of a Mk VI armor variant where the shoulder pad is absent and it's just the upper-arm piece? If so, do tell, and if you have pictures then even better. (This is to assist with modeling a new ultra-high detail upper-arm model...)

Thanks

I believe THIS doesnt have the pauldron part. It looks confusing since most of the parts are "connected" you could say. And its low detail. Hope this helps!

Thanks, but a pdo isn't what I'm looking for. I want to know if there's a Mk VI armor variant in Halo where the shoulder piece is absent. Then I can review game screen shots of the actual armor (if such exists), not a model representing someone's interpretation of it. Is the shoulder piece present on all Mk VI upper arm variants - in game?

The Mk. VI bicep/shoulder that Chief wears is the standard, then you have other variants like CQB, Recon, etc.that take the place of the shoulder itself. I'm pretty that there isn't one that was just bicep only.

So as you know from your own CQB build, the arm armor doesn't have a shoulder part. Instead it has a curved plate attached to the outer upper arm - the shoulder area is not covered. I looked up pictures of Recon and it looks to be the same upper-arm armor as Chief, but with a different shoulder part. I'm entertaining the idea of having the Mk VI upper-arm and shoulder pieces as separate models to make it easier for finishing the surface details in the crevices under the shoulder part and also make it easier to build armor variants. I'm pretty sure I can guesstimate what the area covered by the shoulder part should look like, but then how to attach parts together after they're finished....

Yes, you are correct. All the variants use the base bicep, the shoulder is the only thing that changes.

I am planning on doing the Recon as my next variant...eventually. My CQB shoulder attachments are held on by four screws. This way, I can simply remove them, and attach the next variant in it's place. While not the fastest way to change them out, They are secure. You could possibly use strong magnets to lock them in place, but I would use some sort of locator pin to help align them, then let the magnet itself do the holding.
