i'm in Melbourne, sorry about the quality of the photos, i was using an ipod camera, i'll have better ones this weekend, (cup weekend) i have monday and tuesday off school! YAY!

FrostyTheSnowman: have you done a Sean Bradley kit?

on the weekend i will be working throughout the kit in instructions order. So i should have the legs done; fibreglassed, glued, and painted! I'm hoping to have more done than just the legs.

i'll see you on the other side :)

OH, i forgot, my Sean Bradley ODST helmet arrived today!!!

Sadly no one was home so, i have to pick it up tomorrow from the post office. :( i will have that finished by the end of the weekend!

also i have made some LED circuit's to light up the visor, i have a fan for ventilation :D and i'm going to hook up two green LED's to the Buck com pack!

Fraser.

It's cool to see a Buck costume, a lot of ODST end up customized, much like mine. I like the idea of the LEDs in the com unit, I was debating doing it for mine, but I want to finish armor before I detail.

Your SMG and pistol look really awesome btw, its rare to see someone put a flashlight in the pistol.

Thanks man, I'm mounting a light on the SMG as well, just have to fininsh dremeling out the hole.

Fraser.

hey everyone, it's 11:30pm, and i'm going to sleep, just a quick update, i finished sanding and trimming the Sean Bradley ODST helm, as well as getting the bolts and mounting the visor, i have started painting the helm, i have done four mist coats of gunmetal metallic and i will post more photos tomorrow when i will, (hopefully) have done both calves shins, knees, and toecaps.

see you on the other side.

Goodnight, Fraser.

hey everyone, just finishing for the day, it's 1:43am in Australia, and i have a quick update, today i trimmed and fibreglassed both shins and knees. I also joined the calve pieces, went to bunnings (Australia's version of wallmart) to pick up supplies.

i finished painting the gunmetal on the helmet, i think it looks really nice, i'll have some high res photo's up tomorrow when i finish the helmet.

i am an idiot.

i shoved tons of body filler to reinforce my pieces, and i didn't see the part in the instructions that read, "don't let the filler pool. and only add thin layers. because of shrinking and warping... well your probably going to guess what i did.

i added lots and lots of filler for lots and lots of reinforcement. well the filler didn't agree with me. here are some photos of what happened:

i'm really worried about my pieces, and have a feeling that i wasted all that reinforcement, any ideas?

any way i got some helmet progress, painted the colour stripe, (White) it was getting dark when i took the photo's, so i'll have some better ones up tomorrow :)

remember that this is just a base coat colour on all the pieces, i will paint all the detail on once the assembly is complete.

you have probably noticed that the toe caps are not on properly (I still need to strap them), i need more padding in my helmet so it sits right, i also need to pad my gauntlets so they sit right. also none of the torso parts are complete yet. i still need to find rivets that work/ an alternative to rivets (bolts).

I had a problem with the calves, the body filler that i used in them was not mixed up enough, there was large warpage in some area's, i had to crack out the body filler and re reinforce the calves.

IF ANYONE IS USING BODY FILLER, MAKE SUREE IT'S MIXED THROUGH COMPLETELY!!!!

exams finish today, i have my last one coming up in 2 hours (Wish me luck). so school holidays will start soon, i have 2 months off so i will be posting updates regularly.

Fraser.

Hey everyone, it's 12:13am at night, just a quick update before I sleep, I finished up the torso pieces!!! Which means the whole assembly is done, except for the shoulder straps that I will be hand sewing tomorrow. After that I can finally start painting the black and silver highlights, start mounting my LED's, knife, painting detail such as UNSC and Buck on the chestplate, helmet.

Wooooooo! It was hard and long, but I'm nearly there people!

Goodnight, Fraser.
