Hello there. I saw the work of SupermanExtreme1 and Starx. I decided to try and make my own iron man suit (using pepkaura). I will be using the files that I found on SupermanExtreme1's forum. This is the second time I will be using pepakura (first one was the heavy artillery iron man helmet which was a bit of a disaster) so please don't go hard one me. I would like your opinions and advices and you have any. Also if you made something like that gimme me a link and I will check urs out. Here is the first part: a gauntlet with a bicep. I am still working on hardening the joint.

The joint is still weak but I will harden it. The good thing is that it allows me to freely bend my arm (unlike the first one I made). The scale that I used for the gauntlet is 36.050315 and for the bicep is 36.080315. The bicep scale is a bit bigger because the gauntlet was a bit too small for me.

Please tell me what you think. If any of you know a file for an Iron man hand or you know where I can buy that special light thing so when you lift your arm the light intensity goes up then please tell me below.

Oh and by the way I forgot to mention that I am 172cm tall or in feet I think 5'7. I am quite slim and short so if any of you are a bit like me (physicaly) then my scale will be perfect for you.

Yah, um...... your forearm is on the wrong way attached to your bicep, so........... yah? :)

Nope, it is supposed to be like that. I had to rotate the top on the forearm so it is the rigth way round. This is definately the way it is supposed to be. How did you think it was suposoed to be?

looking pretty good there so far! and yeah, viewing other threads and talent like starx, supermanextreme1, and timecon will help you learn new things and ideas.

i saw your first helmet, and i believe your second one will be a lot better. i'll keep an eye on your prgress. :)

@ Altair: um... i believe the forearm is connected correctly for his left arm. :p

I'm gonna have to go with Pooper

He used a little simple ingenuity to correctly rotate that part above the forearm to be inline and the proper direction.

I like seeing stuff like this, don't let the paper boss you around,

good work.

Looking good so far.

Just one thing wrong I'd say is that it looks like the forarm is one piece, when it should be two. The elbow piece should be seperate from the other gauntlett piece so the other gauntlett piece can rotate around the elbow section. Otherwise you won't be able to rotate the section which contains the rockets. Remember when he shot the rocket into the tank? That raised section was pointing upwards, I don't see you being able to do that with it attached the way it is at the moment.

Correct me if i'm wrong, just what it looks like with that brown tape.

But keep up the good work, your Pepping looks good.

Hmm, I see your point. I can actually rotate the gauntlet so that I can 'fire a rocket' but to do that I rotate the whole arm with a bicep. I see what you mean but with pepakura I am unable to connec them in such a way so that it can be attached and rotate at the same time. If you have any ideas on how to do that plz tell me. :)

Next small update but with a lot of pictures. I noticed that the bicep file that I used wasn't a full bicep model. The bicep didn't have the upper part as the real one had.

Picture6.jpg

So I did a few changes to the bicep by re-printing the lines that are at the top of the bicep and then gluing them on top of the top of the bicep (confusing :)). I also added a piece at the bottom of the bicep because the gap was too big.

Picture3.jpg

This is how it looks now:

Picture4.jpg

Even though the gap got smaller I am still able to bend my hand quite well.

Picture2-1.jpg

There is still a problem of size because the bicep and the gauntlet are eprfect inside but their length is too small. From the bicep to the shoulder I have about 8cm. Hopefully the shoulder bell will cover up the empty space because otherwise I will have to maake the bicep even longer on the outside side. And and the gauntlet doesn't reach the wrist.

Picture5.jpg

Because of that I will make the gautlet longer by making a paper cylinder and sticking it on the front of the gauntlet.

Again please tell me what you think and your advices. Sorry if the pictures came out too big. Today and tommorrow I will be working on th first shoulder bell.

the idea I used was a ring to rotate inside two ther rings. a pic (more like a document since I made this in paint) to simplify what I mean:

look in my topic to see how mine turned out

To anyone who will read this: I finished building the shoulder thing (sorry for no pics, maybe later). I plan to practise with the arm piece that I built (hardening, painting etc) but apart from that I would like to wait till the starx indistries will release their files and then I will use them to buld hopefully a full suit. Beause of that there will probably be no update from me for now so I guess Ill see you later guys.

Marx out.

Awesome progress keep up the good work. Any way you could tell me where you got the pep files?? been trying to find the full suit with no luck
