#310-18-2008, 04:18 PMAye aye cap'n.
Hey, question for you photoshop artists. Pretty sure I'm one of the few corded mouse users left. Looking into some tablets, what are you guys using? Thinking about picking one up for a few things I want to try out. Any reccomendations?
Cheers,
Kensai

#410-18-2008, 07:04 PMWell...as I'm not a shopper, I probably shouldn't say but I bought a genius 8x6 tablet (MousePen)on ebay for about $38. Seems to do a pretty decent job from the little I've played with it (and my non artistic point of view). Since I'm not a pro I figured it would suit my needs and give me something to learn with. Take that for what it's worth. Probably about .00015 cents.

#1010-19-2008, 09:42 AMI've been looking into tablets myself, but since I can't afford a Wacom, I was looking for alternatives and this is what caught my eye - Aiptek 12000U Hyperpen. You can see the review and comparison to a Wacom Graphire tablet here - http://www.juicytools.com/reviews/wacom-gr...yperpen-review/

#1210-20-2008, 06:31 AMI was about to buy the Aiptek 12000U myself but there is also Aiptek 600U slim, I am now a proud owner of that one. If you can't quite afford to go for Wacom, Contiq, Intuos, I say Aiptek is the next best thing.

#1310-20-2008, 07:40 AMI got a Wacom Graphire back when I was in college (this was about 3 years ago). It was $99 dollars at that time. I'm sure they have upgraded the models significantly for that price point too.
I'd highly recommend Wacoms for anyone who is looking for a good tablet. Good pressure sensitivity alone makes it a useful tool.
If you can buy the bigger ones that is awesome. As a hungry student, I opted for the normal mouse pad sized one.

#1410-20-2008, 12:55 PM99$? Seriously? Wow. Odd, because when I looked at their website some months ago, the smallest one I could find (with monitor-like screen) was something like 500$.

#1510-21-2008, 07:53 AM$99 was 3 years ago for one of the first Graphires (4x6 too). I think the price point comparison now would be something like their 'Bamboo' small model.
I wish I could buy the Cintiq 21UX's. Not made of munny tho ;_; . Maybe I can write it off as business one day :3
