#906-10-2012, 08:14 PMWhy buy it when you can build it though, id rather turn up somewhere with something i built myself. sure you might be able to buy it and you can go to an expo in it or something, but at the same time what's the point? you didn't make it so there isn't really anything to be proud of other than having enough money to buy it in the first place.
I would much rather build it and put my time, money and character into it, My amour is me, it doesn't matter if its the same part as someone else has on there armour it doesn't matter because i can promise it wont be the same as mine or anything else i make.
I would much rather go to an expo and be the guy who made his own stuff insted of spending a fortune on it.
Many thanks, Ross

#1006-10-2012, 11:42 PM@MacMandables classifieds aren't just for selling suits though, it's for trading, getting ahold of items that would usually be out of reach, that you can't make yourself, and for postage services especially since we are so expensive from other countries.
Also, some people have busy lifestyles and may have the money, but can't invest the time in making and learning how to build something of their own. It's a good way for those people not to be excluded.

#1106-11-2012, 12:38 AMYeah, that's a fair point in all honesty. My mistake for not thinking this through properly, I guess being Unemployed you tend to forget how hectic life is hen you have so much to do.... damn I miss work. and I certainly agree about the expensive side of things I found if you have the time you don't have the money, but when you have the money you don't have much time.
I guess in that respect it would be a good decision but in all fairness i haven't been here long so i hardly think my point of view count xD
Many thanks, Ross

#1306-25-2012, 09:10 AMYeah I get your point but not like I would buy a full suit, but I would love to buy a helmet cast and then paint it up myself

#1407-02-2012, 02:37 AMhow about not so much as having a shop but... have an option for members of the 405th and likeminded sites/forums to have a "tag" that allows a maker to pass on their used gear...molds and wiring etc..i'll have a plug for vac forming a cqc visor all finished with soon(if it turns out ok). maybe the tag could allow members to ad links to an item they have on sites like Ebay or gumtree or amazon...well you get the idea.....

#1508-02-2012, 08:43 AMProducer seeking Halo costume person for video
Hi
I joined this site to try to track down any Uk member that has armour and would be interested in some paid filming for the day down in Eastbourne in a green screen studio. The video is for internal, corporate use but will be very cinematic and used to open an international conference. I have an option to buy a suit and mod it but would like to see if there was someone out there interested and willing to use their own creation and earn some money to cover the costs of creating it.
1 day shoot 3rd week of August - £350 + travel/accommodation if needed.
If you would be suitable or would like to forward the details of someone who might be drop me an email at: jeremyengler@west-end-studios.co.uk
Cheers
