Hello four-oh-fivers.
As of the start of this thread, I'm new to the world of computer modeling but have set up this model portfolio to have a place to share and showcase my work. Models will be uploaded to one of the reserved posts at the thread's beginning and I will create a new post to identify when a new model is uploaded or an existing model is revised. Creators and unfolders will be identified with every model. These models are provided for use in building paper models and are to be used per Microsoft's game content usage rules (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/developer/rules) only. All model meshes are original works based on image source material and are in no way back-engineered from game software.
My approach to modeling is to capture major details. For the sake of pepakura some details (typically the smaller ones) may be omitted/revised to help in putting together the paper. The intent is that the smaller details can be added in or cut out at later processes of a build.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK MODEL SCALING AND MODIFY TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS PRIOR TO PRINT/ASSEMBLY.
Any and all feedback (positive and negative) is welcomed and appreciated. All modeling suggestions will be considered (please see the request summary in the next post). Thank you.
A special thank you to Bungie/343i/Microsoft for providing the Halo universe to play with and to Isaac Hannaford (http://www.isaachannaford.com/2011/0...-infantry.html) for providing such wonderful concept artwork as source material.
As a general note concerning incoming model requests...
I do like receiving requests and intend to continue freely providing models to members but I cannot guarantee my time unless we've worked out some manner of trade or donation compensation. Each model I create takes me a considerable amount of effort (more for some than for others) to produce. Through modeling, I think I have been able to provide a good service to the community and enjoy doing so. I will be putting all reasonable model requests, those that I'm willing to pursue, after the work log and arsenal summaries above. The order and time-frame in which I may address those requests will be at my discretion.
If you are interested in pursuing making some sort of deal for model work please PM me. Depending on the terms of the deal, models requested in this manner may or may not be provided to the general public.
I appreciate when requested models are actually put to use and so am more likely to produce for members that I know are serious about using them (for newer or less frequent members if you can identify how or why you'd use a model along with your request I'd be more prone to helping you...a general "I really want XXX" isn't really be up to snuff). Also, for items not on the beaten path, a reference image or two accompanying a request may be helpful, as I don't know all the ins and outs of the halo-verse (or other -verses).
There are a other threads dedicated to providing a spot for members to place requests (please see the links below). If there is a request made in this thread or via PM discussion that I can't or won't fulfill I encourage the use of one of them. I will say that since there are many other talented modelers here at the 405th it may not be a bad idea to start with one of the request threads. I do not wish to, and cannot, hog all requests so as to remove modeling opportunities from others.

After saying all that...I love helping out the community when I can but want to be clear that making these models, at least for me, isn't as easy as operating a Star Trek food synthesizer/replicator (google it, for those not in the know). I dig this community and look forward to continuing to build together. See you star-side, four-oh-five.

I notice this thread is really quiet so I hope this will get more attention in the future. People could have use of the package and needler in conventions and stuff, I'm sure of it :3 Great work! Keep it up!
