ok 405th i am building the halo smg and making it and airsoft gun. dont worry ill be sure to post pics as soon as its finished, which should hopefully be in the next week or two. along the way im going to be giving daily updates, seeing as how i started today, i thought it would be a good day to announce it. im making it out of metal like the "real" one and the foregrip out of polymer, and all the other details, basically trying to make it as exact as possible, even down to the weight. so far i have the barrel and hop-up ive stolen from one of my boneyard guns, and im finishing the templates to be cut tomorrow. post any thoughts, questions, or ideas below.

#708-02-2010, 11:16 PMI am so totally interested in how this is going to turn out. I'm kinda obsessed with airsoft (Paintball being too expensive anymore). What kind of gun are you using for the hop-up and motor?

#808-03-2010, 12:23 AMClick the second link in his above post. He's buying a torque motor and hop-up setup, instead of hacking apart an existing gun.Originally posted by Sean Anwalt View PostI am so totally interested in how this is going to turn out. #908-03-2010, 09:15 PMok got alot done today, middle body of the gun is cut out, which took most of the day, (for anyone copying i don't recommend actual metal) ill try to upload pics of the metal tomorrow after i cut and fold some of the metal, ill also be working on the mag-well, but without the mag in hand i wont be able to do much more than cut it out of metal, and hopefully ill have time for the grip to be done but no promises on that. but overall the main body is almost complete (as complete as i can get without the gearbox). well ill be back tomorrow for another post and to see what your all saying, and hopefully ill be able to upload pics. till then keep posting your thoughts, questions, or ideas below.

#1008-03-2010, 09:21 PMInteresting sounding build, how are you planning to do the side-loading? I'm most interested in the modifications to the mags/body/ to accommodate the unusual nature of that. And what are your plans for the hop-up? Post pics!

i plan on doing the side load the same as any other magazine but with an extra curved pipe to force the bbs into the inner barrel.. only problem is that it wount shoot the last few bbs but most guns dont do that anyways. as for hop-up im using the inner barrel and hop-up of a double eagle m83 i had laying around. i plan on running a piece from that to go right under the charging handle on the right side of the gun. only thing i may modify is a selector switch that doesn't seem to be on the real gun but ill more than likely leave that out because full auto is all i use.

#1208-04-2010, 08:05 PMok today i cut the stock and foregrip out of wood because it was all i could get my hands on, and after using it i wish i had made the whole gun out of wood. i desided to hold off on folding the metal until i get the gearbox in so that i can get good measurements. ill be back on after i get home to upload pics so be sure to look for those by midnight or tomorrow morning.

#1503-25-2011, 03:02 PMi was doing sum research for my own little airsoft/halo project and this caught my eye. I hust wanna give u a big thumbs up for actually going and building the gun from scratch. What im doin is just building a foam/fiberglass shell around an existing gun.
