First Build: HD Mark Vi Helmet (Pic Heavy)

    #1
So, I started this project a month ago and I know what you are thinking, "This bum is only doing a helmet? He will never get to the rest of the suit of armor." Which is very possible, but I am in an unusual predicament. In two weeks time I made all of the progress present in this first post and then flew all of the way across the country to go to college here at BYU. Of course, the helmet had to come with me cause I will finish it despite the lack of workshop and materials (and the money to purchase those things).

Anywho, here are the pics of my pep:

While pepping the scale was a tiny bit off, so I made alterations to the back.

I have already resin'd and glass'd it too:

I put tape on the visor and attached it to the bottom of the jaw to prevent warping,
but one of the pieces came undone after I walked away. You can see the warping
by comparing the two edges of the central area underneath the visor.

It was a little too small to fit over my so I removed a bit from the chin and jaw area. A coat of matte black primer shows all of the resin drips and other blemishes that need to be sanded down.

    So, I started sanding:

There is still a bit of sanding to go, but this is what I have thus far. This weekend I am hoping to make a trip to go get some bondo body filler so that I can fix a tiny bit of warping on the visor and other places.

You should have gone with flying squirrels HD Mrk vi. I think it is detailed and modeled much better.

Looks good man, crazy you did that with no edge-IDs! Dont worry too much about the warping, lots can be taken care of with liberal usage of bondo! Keep up the good work and post more pics as the results come in.
