EOD Helmet WIP

#1
Hello all. First time posting here with project details. Cross your fingers that I set this up right. As the title states I'm building an EOD helmet from a pep file from IroniumCostuming and Nintendude, so thank you guys for the great file. Now what I'm looking for from the community here is some critiques on the progress so far. I have the pep finished and non resined. I myself am hyper critical of everything I do so I see all the little defects so lets see what you see.

Pics aren't showing up but I checked your flickr and I must say that is a nice piece of work. I see no warping and the pep looks clean.

Do you plan to add the side vents?

Thanks I dont plan on doing the vents/filters. I like the look without. IDK why the pics dont want to work either. the links are correct. I tryed them as the full url and the short url and neither worked.

You need to use the [IMG] Codes. I'll post a tutorial link in a sec.

Edit: Sorry, can't seem to find it. However just put to post images.

Unlike PhotoBucket and ImageShack, Flickr deliberately hid the URL of the pics, maybe to prevent hotlinking to them. Anyway, here are the steps needed to be able to post Flickr pics on a forum.
1. Open the page where the pic is located.
2. Right-button click the pic and you will see a selection of resolution to choose from. I recommend the Medium 500 setting so that page load up will not slow down but of course you can use the other also. Now click it and it will take you to the pic's page.
3. Right-button click the image and select "Copy Image Location."
4. Go to your forum post and click on the "Insert Image" icon. This open up a panel asking for the URL.
5. Use Cntrl+V or Paste (right-button + paste) to write down the URL of the pic.
6. Voila! You now have the pics included in your post.

Here's the post where I originally listed the steps above.

Thank you guys for the help. To make clear a fact zwave343 pointed out, this is my first armor piece but not my first pep file. Ill look for the pics of the AR that was my first pep job that I butcherd. Rocefin thanks for the link to ur work its looking great so far. urs is the original EOD helm while Im tring my hand at the reach EOD helm. Ral Partha thank you for the forum help apparentlyt flickr has changed their polices yet again cuz they dont like you to hot link ur stuff on forums unless you relink each photo back to flickr. I copyed the BBC code they gave me for each link into the post and it seems to be working. Ill be trying my hardest to get the helm resin/fiber glassed by weeks end cuz Im going away for a week but with work and life its gunnabe tough. Wish me luck

Looks pretty good so far, you may want to try and straighten the slant on the top (in the first pic top of the helmet in middle area) but you don't really have to, this happen to my first Reach EOD and everytime I look at the helmet I notice it for some reason so I rebuilt the same helmet again, othewise everything looks great and it should be pretty easy to finish the helmet especially not putting the filters on, keep it going the Reach EOD is starting to grow on me so I like checking out other members builds

If you want to check out my current Reach EOD im working on you can see it here

Hyperballistik thanks for the link ur helmets are looking great and shows y Im doing mine without the filter things. and the slant ur talking about seems like it will be a pain to try and fix. I glue my peps with superglue so their never coming apart. Also found the photos I took of the reach AR I pep'd.

You probably can't tell in these photos cuz the pieces are together but they don't really fit well together and there is warping and stuff so Ill use it as a guide for whenever I can start to make it in wood.

Quick question to forum members where do you all get your visors from?? Im looking for a dark grey or dark blue mirrored visor for my helmet. Links would be appreciated.

Okay people back with some updates. Finally finished the fiberglassing thank god. have the visor mounted but not finalized have to wait until I get some clingwrap to finish. in the mean time I plastidiped the inside of my helmet and did some general smoothing of the helmet. Basically just got rid of some high spots in the helmet without using bondo just yet. here are the photos of what I've done.
