    Helmet Commission

    #1
    Hi,
I am looking for someone in the southern California area to make a Halo helmet that is suitable for airsoft and paintball play. Please contact me with estimates and then we can discuss details.

I know there are a lot of helmets. I would prefer master chief, but if there is another one that would be easier/cheaper to make, then I'll consider that one as well.

It doesn't need to be completely from scratch or anything. Modified from an existing paintball or airsoft helmet is fine. My first priority is that it's safe and comfortable, and then that it looks awesome. There are a lot of skull masks and army helmets out there but of course Halo is much cooler. I just have zero crafting skills.

First of all, you should understand what 405th is. We are a costuming site that helps each other to build "costumes". We technically do not buy or sell nonchalantly.

Finally, since we are building props, we total discourage using the helmet as airsoft helmet. Any thread that suggest this usually gets locked by the admin or mods rather quickly.

You cannot use a Halo prop helmet for airsoft or paintball. Some of the helmets you may see here are made of varying materials such as fiber glass and bondo (which would splinter and mess up your face) to foam (not going to stop anything either) to resins and plastics (not thick enough to protect you).

I play paintball a lot, and if you do to then you should already know that Helmets for that sport are designed the way they are for a reason, and the visors are thick plastic, (thicker than a motorcycle visor) to protect your eyes.

The props you see here are 100% NON FUNCTIONAL- they are for looks and costuming ONLY. If used for anything else you could be seriously injured or even killed.

Okay, I didn't know. To me, airsoft helmets already kind of look like Spartan helmets. It seems that it wouldn't be to difficult to bridge the gap, but I'll look elsewhere.
