And yes i would recommed a plastic primer first for the toy gun. Try searching for 'Rustoleum' plastic primer, it should cover all of the toy colours with a couple of coats.

I have the feeling that the pepakura parts are too big. I scaled them up by 10% because skylow, who built an amzing Reach AR, somewhere in his thread mentioned that "you may have to scale it up by 10%" So I did, but the parts look bigger than other parts on AR I've seen.

So for now, I scaled them up just a little, from 254 to 260. Let's see how this works out. There is no new progress so far with other things.

Hey rainbow dash, looks great so far. I've done something similar with my CS-6 but I turned it into the CE sniper rifle (with a little help from a juice box and some metal tubing). Just curious if you'll make a way for it to still fire and when it comes to detailing do you think that you'll use a working ammo counter or is it more for show? =)

bin gespannt wie es weiter geht selbiges habe ich auch nach der gamescom vor. leider nicht mehr genug zeit bis zur gamescom. kann ja schon beim durcharbeiten 2-3 tage minimum in anspruch nehmen. die zeit brauch ich aber für meine rüstung
vllt fang ich ein paar tage vor der gamescom an und kann das dann vllt doch schon mitnehmen ^^

Ich bin auch gespannt wie's weiter geht ^^, das Projekt liegt grad auf Eis, Priorität hat momentan die Rüstung, an dem Sturmgewehr kann ich auch noch im Oktober basteln, wenn das Wetter draußen nicht mehr wirklich für andere Arbeiten herhält.
Geplant ist jedenfalls den ganzen hinteren Bereich mit Karton zu machen (kein Holz), dann brauch ich noch was zum Füllen und verstärken.
Wär geil, wenn du das wirklich noch bis zur gamescom schaffen würdest. Ich wäre ja heuer auch mit nem Kumpel hin, aber dann hat es Nintendo nicht für nötig gehalten heuer dort präsent zu sein, Microsoft ist ja auch nicht da? Also wird das heuer nichts, nächstes Jahr vielleicht, und dann inklusive Rüstung.

Hast schon recht. aber bestimmte aussteller sind mir nicht wichtig. eher die menschen dort und die allgemeine anzahl an neuen ständen und spielen. dass halo 4 dort nicht kommt oder anderes von nintendo ist mir eig egal :P

Mir selbst wär das auch nicht so wichtig, vor allem da es meine erste gamescom wäre. aber meinem kumpel schon, der ist ein riesen nintendo-fan, hatte schon geplant dieses jahr wieder hinzukommen, und war dann etwas enttäuscht als nintendo-bekanntgegeben hat nichts auf der gamescom auszustellen.

Hey. machst also auch mit pep ? ich kann mir das nich ganz vorstellen wie das klappen soll dazu fehlt mir bischen die fantasie ( scaling etc.... )

Aber ich hab überlegt meine aus papier zu machen und diese in 3 segmente zu teilen und dann diese zusammenzuschrauben um innen mit rondo auszufüllen... da kommts gewicht mehr her und es wird auch robust.

Puh, ich weiß erlich gesagt auch noch nicht wie's weitergeht. Vielleicht mach ich noch andere teile bis auf die 3 die ich schon habe mit pep. wird aber schwierig mit dem scalen. oder ich such mir andere materialen die passsen könnten. Es geht hauptsächlich um den hinteren Teil der AR. Inwieweit ich da das Pepakura Modell als Vorlage nutze(n kann) weiß ich auch noch nicht. Egal womit ich das dann mache, hab mir jedenfalls auch gedacht, dass ich das dann ebenfalls eventuell mit Bondo füllen könnte, hab sowieso noch etwas UP-Gießharz rumstehen für das ich sonst keine Verwendung habe. Irgendwie wird's schon gehen. ^^
Dabei sollte man denke ich auch achten, dass es vorne unt hinten umgefähr gleich schwer wird, nicht dass die Waffe auf einer Seite einen extremen überhang bekommt. wär dann nicht mehr so lustig zu tragen glaub ich
