    HELP: Armor Permutations!

    #1
    Hey guys,

I'm making armor for a movie project, and I was wondering, how exactly do armor permutations attach? Do they go over your piece of armor, like if I had a normal MK VI shoulder, would I place the permutation over/onto that; or would I have to cut the top piece out of the shoulder to place the permutation into its place?

Sorry if I don't seem clear on this, I tried discribing my problem as best as I could!

Best thing is the stickies. There's a whole section on ideas of how to mount armor pieces to each other. Other than that I've heard people use magnets, velcro or just resin and bondo it straight to the other piece. I hope this gives you some ideas.
I noticed in your signature that you are planning on making a film and making an ODST suit, just out of curiosity, which project brings the question?

Thanks! In my film, there are 4 Spartans (LD files save lives :P) and it takes place just after Halo 3, when everyone thought Master Chief was dead. So, I needed to make the Spartans look different from each other so it wouldn't look like we were dealing with 4 Master Chiefs.

And I'll always have the knowledge from this project for the ODST if I need it!

Glad I could help. I've always wanted to make a movie (rather it be Halo, Xmen, or one of my own designs), I didn't know, if there were spartan after Reach fell except the Chief, but it sounds like a good idea.
If you're interested here are some more people making Halo fan films:

Sons of the Battlefield (did some concept art for them)

        Dawn under Heaven

I know there's a few more, but not as much as you think there should. Good luck with your build!

Sorry for the late reply (went camping with my family for the week.) Thanks for the references, I'll take a look at them! The fact that the Chief was the last Spartan after Reach was a HUGE hurdle for me, eventually I made it so that some scientists didn't believe that Master Chief would end the war, so a scientist named Leonard Neville created a fallback team of Spartans (called "Rebirth Team") under the UNSC's nose. That's basically the prologue of my movie, which I do plan to elaborate on in the movie itself.

          But thanks again!

Anything I could do to help a future film maker. Sounds like a good idea about having a back up team, maybe they were in cryogenic sleep and revived for the fight? Just an idea. Good luck with your film and costumes!
