Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share some of my re-paints of Halo BOOMco blasters as the models off the shelves look pretty ugly.

Brute Spiker (my personal favorite)

I hope to try some more patterned stuff in the future, but for now I hope you like the pretty basic schemes! :)

Nice! I really like the spiker. I noticed on the AR though, that it looks the paint had some dripping issues. If that's the case, I'd suggest doing multiple thin coats, instead of one thick one.

Main problem I had with the AR was that the first primer coat paint did not play well with the white paint already on the gun and it kind of melted :/

The Spikers really do look great. I think of all the BoomCo items, their Spiker is the best optimized to be used as a prop with a costume, and you really made them shine.

I didn't actually :/ I'm always fearful of sanding that I'll sand too much and the surface becomes uneven
Yeah, you always want to sand stuff before priming. You really can't get an uneven surface unless you use an electric palm sander or something.

If you are worried about scratches, definitely get a much higher grit sandpaper, as it will be smoother. You can also buy an "Adhesion Promoter" like Bulldog, from an automotive store. It comes in a spray can and is designed to paint adhesion to car parts, but works just fine for props as well.

Oh cool, that'd be pretty useful! I'll keep and eye out! :)
