My mk.7 needed a sidearm and my gunfighter magnum is a little to heavy. So I decided to make a sidekick and just casually work on it here and there. I started it on 10th well it's done now and ready for sealer and paint, guess it'll be ready for galaxycon in December. The end goal is to have the past tense coating on it but it'll have be repainted, might just do something basic for the time being. Anyway here's the progress of the build

So the foam blocks I got from work, I'm in a auto body shop and they were from a headliner we got in so I can't exactly tell you want it is. I'm sure any dense foam block would work
I think the headliners are polyurethane. That's kinda interesting you're using foam from headliners though

?? Headliners themselves aren't polyurethane.. the foam bricks used to support said headliner in transit. Figured I didn't need to say it was a support, guess not

It still holds with the paint on it which I kinda figured it would and the finished product. It may not be 100% but I think it's damn good for a first attempt. I kinda want to make another one and have the past tense costing for it. I may even take my time on that one to make it a little more accurate

That's looking really good! What kind of foam did you use?

I can't make foam weapons for the life of me so in my opinion you did a damn good job at just a first attempt!

It was a shipping support for a car headliner we got in at work so I honestly couldn't tell you. I'd say it's about mid range density and a few inches thick
It looks good! I may give that method a try some time.
