Hey there!

It's been quite some time since my last crocheted Halo stuff, so i had to make a new thread.
But I've made a few new patterns, so just pressure me enough to finally post them <.<

Let's start with my personal fav for now: LUMU!

It's been quite a ride with that AI, so far I've made 3 versions, each one a bit different to improve my pattern :D
BUT I MADE THEM FLOAT!

The secret? Just stab 'em with a clear straw and maybe put enough hot glue at the other end of the straw to keep it balanced on your hand.

Purple Lumu went international and lives at Wendi82 s place now :D

You'll need:
- yarn of choice, white yarn for facial features
- crochet hook, size depends on your yarn
- tapestry needle
- something to mark your rounds (everything is fine as long as you can keep track of your stitches ;D)
- filling material / fiber fill

Used terms (US crochet terms): ( For Tutorials on how to do certain stitches, check out my old thread, i've posted several videos in my other pattern)
Rnd - Round
MR - Magic Ring
sc - single crochet
inc - increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec - decrease (2 sc together)

Let's go!

Rnd 1 - MR, 6 sc
Rnd 2 - inc x6 times (12) (<- Here I'm telling you how many stitches you should have. It may happen, that you're on off in the progress, it happens to me too xD)
Rnd 3 - *1 sc, inc* x 6 times (18)
Rnd 4 - * inc, 2 sc* x 6 times (24)
Rnd 5 - *3 sc, inc* x 6 times (30)
Rnd 6 - sc, inc, *4 sc, inc* x 5 times, 3 sc (36)
Rnd 7 - *5 sc, inc* x 6 times (42)
Rnd 8 - 2 sc, inc, *6 sc, inc* x 5 times, 4 sc (48)

Rnd 9 - Rnd 16 - sc around (48)

Rnd 17 - *14 sc, dec* x 3 times (45)
Rnd 18 - *13 sc, dec* x 3 times (42)
Rnd 19 - *12 sc, dec* x 3 times (39)
Rnd 20 - 6 sc, dec, *11 sc, dec* x 2 times, 5 sc (36)
Rnd 21 - * 10 sc, dec* x 3 times (33)
Rnd 22 - 5 sc, dec, *9 sc, dec*, 4 sc (30)
Rnd 23 - *8 sc, dec* x 3 times (27)
Rnd 24 - 4 sc, dec, *7 sc, dec* x 2 times, 3 sc (24)
Rnd 25 - sc around (24)
Rnd 26 - *6 sc, dec* x 3 times (21)
Rnd 27 - sc around (21)
Rnd 28 - 3 sc, dec, * 5 sc, dec* x 2 times, 2 sc (18)
Rnd 29 - sc around (18)
--> Stuff your Lumu firmly!
Rnd 30 - *4 sc, dec* x 3 times (15)
Rnd 31 - sc around (15)
Rnd 32 - *3 sc, dec* x 3 times (12)
Rnd 33 - sc around (12)
Rnd 34 - dec x 6 times (6)

Fasten off and sew the hole shut (or leave it a bit open to insert a clear straw later ;) )

For the face.... i have to admit, i just eyeball the placement. Just look deep in your soul where to embroider the eyes and the lines on. :D

I hope you like them! If you're going to make one yourself, please show me!
if you notice any mistakes also please tell me!

Next upcoming pattern will be for Superintend with different eyes shapes :D ( and by public demand: Subuwuintend version)
Well, i have the pattern on paper, I just need to write it down again. Like I said, just pressure me to do that soon xD

This cute guy also lives now at Wendi82 s place
(Yeah, if I ask you if you want something and you give me a choice, the chances are pretty high you're getting all your options xD )

I've never tried crochet before but I might need to now for Lumu!

I've seen the Lumus before, but I haven't seen the Supers, and I wish I've seen them earlier because they have to be my fave out of the ones you've made so far. The image on the right looks like he's sleeping very comfortably. Personally looking forward to how Fret comes out since he's the one I use in multiplayer. Very adorable, very well done!

It's been some time, but i promised to post a pattern for Superintend!

Sadly i didn't had the motivation to work further on Fret or Butlr, but their times will come!

Eye attachment:
I was lazy. really lazy. and what does a cosplayer use, if they don't want to sew? That's right! HOT GLUE!
So, to make the Eyes detachable, i just hotglued Velcro on the eyes and on the ball- if it works, it works. But you can do the hard way and sew the velcro on - or the eyes, if you don't want to change them. That's totally up to you!

If you want the pattern for the UwU eyes, please let me know. I forgot to write the pattern down when i made them (took me like 15 minutes to make them, so i didn't care at that moment)

Oh! Before i forget, i had the chance to test a crochet pattern of oddduckcrochet (instagram)!

It's not AI related, but still Halo crochet, so i have to show you!
Oddduckcrochet made a pattern for a Halo ODST Huragok, and she was nice enough to make me on of her pattern testers. She will sell the pattern on her etsy later (and is already selling her finished huragoks there)!

I didn't have a chance to open this thread until now but after scrolling by earlier I thought " How adorable would it be if they did a lil engineer ? "

Absolutely adorable is the answer!

Fret and Butlr are also planned, but their shapes are a bit more complicated for me and I wasn’t happy with my tries so far. Those two will take some longer. The sharp edges are a challenge for me.

Failed Fret: way too flat. More like a pancake ☹️

I think you're doing a great job on all of these!

Have you tried making panels and then crocheting them together along the edges to give it a more defined edge or almost "spine". Hope this is helpful and I can't wait to see what you come up with! I know you'll do cool stuff.

(I've attached a quick sample edge that I made out of some scrap yarn to show you what I mean)

That's kinda how i tried it, but i didn't made the triangles pointy enough xD

It has been silent for quite a while now, but I got back into it.

Currently working on my flood pattern, which I wanted to do… almost two years ago!

So far we’ve lost one crochet hook in the process. Rest in pieces little fella.
IMG_0971.jpeg

Should be able to drop a full pattern about next week. Hopefully. Kick me if I don’t.

It‘s done! Finally! After waaaayyyyy too long! Also kinda noticed how much longer it takes for me to finish a piece when the hyperfixation isn’t kicking :‘)

But here you go! The promised flood crochet pattern! As always: Please let me know if you find any errors and PLEASE SHOW ME YOUR WORK ONCE YOU DECIDE TO MAKE YOUR OWN!!!

Rnd 2) 3x inc (6)

-> Fasten off, no stuffing needed, leave a longer tail to sew on main body

Antennas (make 3 of those!):
Rnd1) chain 4, slip stitch into first chain
Rnd2) 4 sc in this ring
Rnd3 to end) 4 sc
-> repeat until desired length, but longer than the tentacles!
-> Fasten off, leave longer tail to sew on main body

Red part for the Antennas: (Tassels, also 3 of those)
63DA25FE-BA74-4583-B533-4FB67A439504.jpeg

- wrap yarn around your hand until desired thickness
- Tie together at the top
- Cut on the other side
- Tie upper end tightly

- Sew ending of the tassel on the opening of the start of your antennas and Fluff ;)

Assembling:
- sew on tentacles and antennas on the bottom of the main body, using the long tails
- Place the 3 antennas more on the front, weave in the ends.

Congrats! You have your own flood now! Please handle with care, one of them can cause the extinction of an entire species ;)
