I didnt know where to post this topic but its abit of a suggestion

I recently noticed some topics on people wanting to make MJOLNIR armor for paintballing and even airsoft, sure, fibreglassed armour could easily take a bb pellet, or even a paintball, but i cant stress enough that this site is for COSTUMING AND PROPS! its really irritating to see these topics being made, prehaps a note topic would help fix it?

my point is, you lose balance easily, it restricts your movements, and you dont know if your mask is safe or not

plus, in 99% of peoples opinions you would be classed as a nerd, not "badass" the other 1% wouldnt even have heard of what halo is

but ya know, halo armor in paintballing, fine, it can be tried, why not go for it, but im sorry, i recently read a topic which actually made me laugh out loud of its stupidity,

a member on this site ACTUALLY intended to make an ODST helmet to ride with his motorbike... this is with pep and fibreglass,

ok it could stand bb pellets

and even paintballs

but not a frickin car going 40mph

i think for coming up with such a dumb idea he deserves to have his brains splattered across the road

if you reading this man... youre a fool

i had a full face helmet that i took the padding out of and this thing was harder than a rock literally, and it wasnt legal on roads, YOU THINK A CARDBOARD FIBREGLASSED ONE WILL BE!?!?

sorry about this topic but i just wanted to make an opinion n these noobs who think its "badass" to have your brains splattered across the road... aswell as your armour you spent ages on

what are everybodys opinions on this?

It's really nothing to worry about, evolution is great, I think I'm going to let it run its course.
No use getting angry about something that won't affect you.

tl;dr: Gene pool's closed. Due to AIDS.

i know, its nothing to worry about but i wanted to see peoples views, who honestly would be stupid enough to wear a fibreglassed peice of paper as a helmet

Well technically, making an ODST helmet for motorcycle can be "okay" [Don't take this the wrong way] in some states.

In Illinois, you only need eye protection, so sunglasses, glasses and etc are wehat people normally wear. No helmet protection. Is it idiotic, yes. But the helmet would work and it technically would be legal and what not. But if you're going to wear a helmet while cycling, at least use a real one that restricts your vision.

Basically, even though the law is you just need eye protection here, it's stupid and you should always wear a helmet.

And the paintball suits---if you REALLY want one, Nightmare armor studios suits are "paintball tested" and you can see on the internet somewhere in the halo armor videos on game trailers and what not that theres a small clip of it.

But they can barely maneuver, and it would get way hotter than you want. It gets hot running around anyways, add a heavy fully encased suit and there you go.

Both ideas are clearly stupid, but doable. I didn't want to post these in the topics that were asking how to do it, so here is a good spot.

This has been covered to death, but thanks for your concern.

This website and it's administrators do not recommend the use of costume armor for Paintball, Airsoft, or any other such athletic or ballistic activities.

Please exercise good judgement and consult a good psychiatrist/physician before engaging in any strenuous activity in homemade supersoldier costumes that could result in bodily harm and legal prosecution.

In short; play at your own risk, don't say we didn't warn you.
