Hi guys!

I finally find out which armor I'm about to make ( at least trying to ... :) )

As I really like a lot of different helmets , I let a friend to pick up one among my favs.

This will be a Halo 3 Rogue helmet or Roublard as it is said in the french version. Edit: For those who would like to find it in the archive, here is the link to the file, (hoping it's authorized to link ):

For the armor I chose the Halo 4 MK VI which , for me; suits very well with the helmet.

For the moment, working on the different parts of the pepakura but don't really know yet what to choose between eva foam or only pepakura method.

I just want to add something : a huge THANK YOU to all of you, for the advices and help you are kindly giving on this website that helped me a lot into trying to understand how to do!

That looks like a pretty nice helmet. Good luck on your build. Keep us no0bs posted on your progress.

Nice choice with the Rouge helmet. I usually try to make my helmets using the pepakura method and I use EVA foam for the rest of the armor. EVA foam is lighter and easier to work with, but for the helmet the pepakura is more detailed and can be hardened.

Hi guys!

First , thanks for your advices, they were really helpful to take a decision!

That's why I decided to use the pepakura method for my helmet.

No need to wait more : here are the pictures.
(be nice it's my first one ever :) )

Unfortunately it looks too large even for me (185 cm tall with a long head.... thanks mom for the head :) ).
Let me know what you think about it .
I may need to build a new smaller one.

Well I used Height: 320mm (first 316 that I rounded up to 320)
Width 338mm
Depth 441mm.

Should I try with a base of 305 for the height and the next will follow?

If you're willing to take the time to do it, you should use this method that Volpins Props used (uses?) to scale helmets. You won't have blueprints like he does, but you can just screenshot the profile view of the helmet in Pepakura Viewer.

It's a little more precise than the ol' "resize and reprint until it's right" method.

Hey guys!!
Sorry for being away for a while! I have just moved to my new apartment, leaving parents' house.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I just finished the new re-sized helmet which looks better this time(I hope so btw).
I also finished other parts as torso and back, leg, hand, arm!!! Really excited to move forward!!
Pictures are coming soon!
Thanks.

It fits so much better than the 1st one I built.

Others parts are coming.

I just have a basic question for you: Would it be better to assemble all the pieces of the suit before hardening or to harden them one by one?

That's all for today .

Nice job. The answer would probably depend on how long you expect to take between assembling the pep pieces. My answer is: much better to do them all at once.. saves time and resources (gloves, cups, stirring sticks etc). But, if you think it will be weeks or months between your pepping your pieces then you risk the unhardened ones getting damaged. Lots of things can happen, animals, things falling, moisture. I kept my work-in-progress stuff unhardened for a month or so with no problem, but I also kept them in covered plastic storage bins that I got for $7 bucks at BigLots.

Hi everyone!!

UPDATE!!!!

Shoes are done assembling, I still have to harden it and to paint :)

no rush....I know the feeling of missing a deadline. The end result will be a suit of your making and will be, and from what I see (can make out for pic quality really) is that your pep is really good. Clean lines and good shape. You're well on you'er well on you'er way for a great suit.
