I used a 1/16 inch material called Matte board. I found it in an arts store called Michael's Arts and Crafts store and it was in the photo frame section. It's a material used behind photo frames.

You should of posted this question in the Halo 4 pepakura thread. As far as I know, there isn't any Halo 4 marine pep files. You can always let molders in the thread know that you're interested.
