UPDATE (11/14/2013) - Edited first offense consequences

Infractions:
First off, the infractions for not adhering to these standards or our rules on behavior.

1.) First one is the "Freebie".
A warning from a Moderator or Administrator.

2.) Following the Freebie: Infrac. #1 or "Library Card" = 3 Day Suspension.
If a user hasn't learned from the initial friendly warning and those of other members, their posting privileges will be taken for this short time in which we can only hope they figure out how to post and/or act by being able to read only.

3.) Following the Library Card: Infrac. #2 or "Dunce Cap" = 7 Day Suspension.
Ok so a user hasn't quite learned yet to post properly or they're just being inconsiderate, disrespectful human beings. So they'll have to get used to not having access to the full usage of the forums for an entire week. This is their last chance to turn it around before being ousted from the forums completely.

4.) Last one following Dunce Cap: Infrac. #3 or "Hammer Fodder" = 6 Month Ban.
Users incurring this punishment just haven't figure out how to post properly or they've been consistently disruptive or rude to other forum users. Meaning either they're ten years old or they're acting like a ten year old.

A list of these violators and banned users will be made public and updated as often as we see fit. Let's hope the public shame will encourage these users to shape up...unless they've been banned. Banned members will be made public merely so people know who and why incase the question comes up.

Now, that should hopefully keep those here to actually do something productive and/or helpful regardless of their skills or lack there of no matter how long their stay lasts.

Oh, one more thing. These will hold to all forum users including Mods, Vets, Noobs, and even the most contributing member of the site. No exceptions.

This is a general list of offenses that will land you with warnings and when necessary an out right banning. There might be cases where you will be warned by a staff or moderator that may not be listed here. We try to explain why you are receiving a warning when it is issued. Forum members that believe someone has violated any of the mild or severe offenses, PLEASE RERORT ONLY. DO NOT take matters into your own hands.

Common Problems: Instead of a formal warning the following offenses may grant you a friendly warning from the mod or staff either via PM or in the involved thread itself. All of these things may be altered or removed without notification from a staff member or moderator. Continued repeat of these offenses may have your posting privileges removed for a time.

-For Sale/Trade/Auction Threads [NOT ALLOWED]

-Indecision Threads

-Attention Threads or Posts

-Oversized Signatures

-Spam Posts

-WIP Threads without Progress Pictures

-Necro-Posts

-Multiple Simultaneous or Consecutive Posts

Unacceptable Conduct: These are more severe offenses and will be handled with formal warnings. Do any of these one too many times and you'll find yourself banned from the forums.

-Sexual and/or Vulgar Language, Discussion of Drug Use, or Other Unadvised Content

-Flaming or Arguing of Any Kind

-Degrading Personal Remarks

-Destructive Criticism

-Trolling

-Mass Spam

Extreme Offenses: Some of these offenses could get you banned on the spot. An apology or confession of guilt for any of these offenses might turn your permanant banning into a temporary one for most of these except the last one.

-Intentional Disrespect Toward A Moderator or Staff Member

-Multiple Accounts

-Unauthorized Recasting

-Self Crediting Another's Work

-Circumventing A Punishment via Creation of New Account

Let's try not to do any of these things that will land you in the hot seat. Contrary to popular belief, the Moderators and Staff don't like to ban people or issue warnings. Therefore, it would actually be helping the staff and moderator team to conduct yourselves as if you had your parents were looking over your shoulder while you were visiting this site.

Explanations of Offenses:

For Sale/Trade/Auction Threads [NOT ALLOWED] - Threads that are for the purpose of selling an item outside of that allowed in the classified section of this forum. If you are new, you will not be able to see this section, however, please be patient, be a good member, and it will be available to you in time.

Indecision Threads - Threads posing questions usually about making some sort of decision. Usually in poll form, but not always.

Attention Threads or Posts - Threads that usually start with "I'm gonna make/do this", "I'm back", and others of the like.

Oversized Signatures - Decent signature size is 400x175 for images, and an additional 2-3 lines of text. Max size for signatures is 500x200.

Spam Posts - Posts that have nothing to do with the topic, advertisements, empty comments(ie - "wow cool", etc), repeated comments(ie - "Read the stickies", etc), and others.

WIP Threads with No Progress Pictures - WIP threads should not be started without a any progress pictures in the very first post.

Necro-Posts - Posting on dead threads after approximately a minimum of one month passes where conversation has died off or the subject was settled. Posting in old topics is allowed if you have new information to provide or a new question to ask that is related. Please PM the original post owners first if you have questions/comments about their old posts prior to posting your questions in those topics.

Multiple Simultaneous or Consecutive Posts - Starting several threads regarding the same exact topic, posting multiple instances of the same information, and/or posting replies consecutively(within minutes of each other) without attempting to edit prior posts. Exceptions are double posts in your personal progress threads when updating.

Sexual and/or Vulgar Language, Discussion of Drug Use, or Other Unadvised Content[/b] - Topics or posts that contain prejudice regarding race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation will not be tolerated on these forums. Swearing, references to sexual acts in graphic or typed form, lewd jokes, accounts of mind altering drugs legal or not, and etc. will also not be tolerated.

Flaming/Arguing of any kind - There is a difference between arguing and disagreeing. NOTE: Political, Religious, and other topics of sensitive natures usually cause overheated arguments/flaming and are not allowed. Therefore, they are usually locked immediately if discussion cannot not remain civil.

Degrading Remarks - Putting another member down for their work is a prime example for this.

Destructive Criticism - This falls very closely with Degrading Remarks, but more along the lines of criticizing another's work without offering some insight into how to fix or improve upon their efforts.

Trolling - Making posts just for a strong reaction, or emotional reaction. "Baiting".

Mass Spam - A cross between Multiple and Spam Posting.
