Thumbs down The Official 405th Q & A Team!

Question & Answer Team: Here to Help!

Team Leaders: BlacRoseImmortal and JediStumpy
PM me, BlacRose, or JediStumpy to be reviewed for Q&A Team!

Members: PM myself or Jedi if you are willing to help out by being PM’ed and help answer questions about creating armor (pep, molding, electric, etc.)

Each member must PM this information to be reviewed by the Team Leaders:

1) Specialties (meaning: What you are comfortable and knowledgeable about. pep, molding, electric, cb, etc.)
2) When you, the applicant, are usually online (How offen do you check the 405th?)
3) What have you built up to date? (Does not have to be only Halo stuff, let us know what you've built and how you built it! This is the most important step to inform us about your qualifications to be accepted into the Official Q&A Team)

Qualifications that would be in place:
- Must be online active (no long breaks, and if so let me (or someone) know so it may be posted, PM please)
- Have created something that ties into the 405th or other costume related groups

Welcome New Members!
Due to a very large number of new post that come out each day by new members, we ask that you use this list of volunteers, and PM (Personal Message) the members on this list for your armor making question(s). Each member has their own talents and skills that they are willing to share so we all can have the best armor possible. We still encourage our new mambers to READ THE STICKIES before PMing the volunteers

Our Rules:

1st: Please read the Stickies! Look at the top on each Forum. Anything under "Important Topics" Read! You just might find your answer there!

2nd: If you have a question, just search the list, look for a member that meets your needs, and just PM him or her.
That simple. Just allow some time for them to respond (A full day or 2, average).

3rd: RESPECT the volunteers, don't get all pissy if you PM someone and dont instantly get an answer.

Pep Scaling
http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1804

Disclaimer: This doesn't always work 100% of the time!
Open Robo’s model calculate your height in inches add 2 – 4 inches. Put that into the scale box of Pepakura.
IF You want to use another person’s model do this first then take the height in cm that pep gives you from the last step and use it for the other model.
Another method that is pretty fail safe is to measure your (forearm, bicep, thigh, shin, hand) and take that cm value and plug into pep. Be sure to add some room when you measure so that it isn’t super tight.

well, I suppose u use spray paint, & put a layer of masking tape on the visor or whatever other part U don't want paint on. now, for stripes on ur armor, I would suggest u first paint that piece of armor silver, for later damage detailing, then a layer of the color of the stripe, when it dries, u cover the area where the stripe would go with masking tape, then spray paint the piece the color u want for the main armor., with the masking tape covering & protecting the stripe, & when it dries, u take teh masking tape off, and voila! striped armor.

4. How would u mold a chest piece (the whole thing) with out screwing up because i,m penny pinching this as much as i can

5. were can u find Pepakura in the stickies??

ive been lookin for ages and i couldn't find any link to it

it would be a real help if someone aided me

I suggest that you read the very first post (aka OP) of this thread line by line.

7. I have finished painting a left handplate and forearm and want to start pepping a shoulder bicep and a Hayabusa shoulder premutation. I searched on how I go about doing the premutation in the search engine and it seems fruitless. So I'm posting here. I have robogenesis' shoulder, shoulder without bicep, and the hayabusa pep. Now which one of these two shoulders am I supposed to prep? And When I do, am I supposed to just resin the plates to the shoulder and or bicep without shoulder? Wich one am I supposed to prep? Shoulder or bicep without shoulder? I hope I posted my question in the right place cause I thought it would be better than just making a new thread.Oh and btw its VI

8. Hi everyone I have been looking over this site for some time and reading the stickeys and learning about what you guys do.

I have a few questions that i could not find.

#1 is there a sustain name for oil based Clay?

#2 is there any stores in New Zealand that sells the stuff needed for a project/Hobie like on your site.

#3 Why does New Zealand have a red under line?

#4 Whats Software is best used with papakura?

#5 how much RAM is needed to run it with minimal lag.

I just want to know all I can before I undertake anything like this.

Sorry if the questions have been answered before.

Thanks in advance
