I was about to buy the Aiptek 12000U myself but there is also Aiptek 600U slim, I am now a proud owner of that one. If you can't quite afford to go for Wacom, Contiq, Intuos, I say Aiptek is the next best thing.
I got a Wacom Graphire back when I was in college (this was about 3 years ago). It was $99 dollars at that time. I'm sure they have upgraded the models significantly for that price point too.
I'd highly recommend Wacoms for anyone who is looking for a good tablet. Good pressure sensitivity alone makes it a useful tool.
If you can buy the bigger ones that is awesome. As a hungry student, I opted for the normal mouse pad sized one.
99$? Seriously? Wow. Odd, because when I looked at their website some months ago, the smallest one I could find (with monitor-like screen) was something like 500$.
$99 was 3 years ago for one of the first Graphires (4x6 too). I think the price point comparison now would be something like their 'Bamboo' small model.
I wish I could buy the Cintiq 21UX's. Not made of munny tho ;_; . Maybe I can write it off as business one day :3
Oh yeah, I've been drooling over that one myself for some time now, hehe
The cover, back cover, Odessa and Helljumper artworks are all complete. They've already been stamped approved by Vex and Fluff 'n Stuff and private links are enroute to the Graphic Editors inbox ASAP. The cover/back cover is a 17in X 11in mural and will be a full wraparound cover/backcover leaving an additional .5inches bleed on all sides to play with for Vex in 250 pixel per inch resolution. All files are CYMK and in .TIFF format print standards. Pleasure doing business as always ladies and gents. See you all issue #3.
Cheers,
Kensai
PS: Those of you waiting for your custom signature from me, no fear you're not forgotten. I haven't even gotten a chance to make myself a new one either.
Also, the possible promotional idea I was tossing around is a go. So after issue #2 a special little something will be available for purchase in the classifieds for our readers to keep them company for the holidays .

Great as usual. Thanks for the fast turnaround too!
Wacom is the only way to go.
Don't waste your $ on anything else. They really are unparalleled in the tablet market.
I'm currently using an Intuous3 at the office. I think they are priced around 300-400, so it is quite an investment, but well worth the cost.
I got a wacom intuos this christmas.
Wierd to use it for the first time but i'm getting the hang of it.
And erm about grahical stuff erm... Well i follow multimedia at a graphical school. From website builder to animation.
Gonna follow digital arts and entertainement on college (mostly 3d stuff)
