Hello 405th!

This is my first W.I.P. thread of me building my Low and Medium definition Mark VI with the standard Master Chief helmet. At the time of this thread, I have finished pepping everything including an assault rifle. I plan on getting some good feedback to help me in future builds!

As this is my very first build of anything pepakura, I started out with a mix of low and medium definition parts.

These are the low def helmet, shoulder pieces, and torso.

These are the medium def thigh pieces, shin pieces and crotch.

I hope you like them, please feel free to give me any feedback to improve my skills!

I started out with white, that ran out. I found some green, that ran out, then I went to staples and got 500 sheets of white card stock and that hasn't run out o_O

I am considering redoing the torso to a higher definition, there is definitely a significant improvement between the low and medium def pepakura files.

nice and pre greened! I'd still have to paint it anyway...

well the pre greening would be good if you dodnt resin bondo fiberglass and paint it

(youd skip alot of steps lawl)

I need the structure of the resin, and besides, I'm going to do a color scheme and painting method that I saw on this forum, the name of the creator escapes me at the moment....

ok i think i'm the only one to notice this but in the first picture u took will the helme, torso and shoulders, you were wearing the shoulders backwards. the bicep looking piece should go on the front where your bicep is. just a future tip. looks great so far though. keep it up. and i'm looking forward to seeing more done

hahaha, I was wondering if someone would pick that up. I know its backwards, but in all honesty, it is more comfortable to wear it that way lol.

I noticed when I was finished that on the bottom of the piece towards the elbow, there were two sides, one with something jutting out like this \_/ and the other side like this /-\. I found that the side with the /-\ could fit into the front better since I could then flex my arm, but I will look into that, I didn't go into the medium def since I can't figure out how it is supposed to stay on.

funny funny, :lol

I have decided to remake my low def chest piece into a medium def piece, that alone is 34+ sheets of card stock I have to score and cut, I'm scared to see what High def parts have in store for me once I reach that level!

Being semi-new to the 405th, I have read all of the rules and I'm still not sure if continuing off a WIP topic is necro-posting

But here is my update anyway:

I have a medium-def Torso and back ready for fiber glassing:

I have finally made medium-def shoulders:

I even decided to make me some medium-def forearms:

I believe that I possess more skill with a rotary tool than pepakura. The majority of the detail work will be done by rotary tool (dremel) and A LOT of bondo.

Also, I have made a foam core template for a custom Halo 3 Shotgun that I will work on in between drying times of fiberglass, the barrels and pump are not on this template as they will be separate entities in the design, ie, the barrels will be tubes and the pump will be able to "pump":

Excellent base for a custom shotgun man! Glad to see someone else using RoboGenesis parts :)

Can't wait to see this progress.
