I read this thread before and I do have something to say on this topic. I do agree that the Forum has changed but just as people do, this Community adapted to it's environment. Let's be realistic about this. Halo has not yet become a movie never the less an American Classic. Halo is dieing slowly but surely. This is why people are moving on to other props and costumes. Maybe instead of making new locations for other than Halo items, we should look at changing 405th to a propping and costume Community. 405th has a great name in the world of props and Halo got us there but if we stick with just Halo then it will eventually die. This is just my opinion.

Hmmmm makes me debate whether I should actually not get an ODST set from Sean....I'd love to have one but if the community is dying I'd rather not drop the cash. No one wants to be the guy at the costume party with everyone asking him what he's supposed to be....

There should be different sections for each genre, perhaps even a "General WIP" section.

Half the reason I went AWOL was because I came here years ago for Halo props and costuming and this site gradually morphed into something else. There is nothing wrong with any of those things (and I would love to have an Iron Man suit) but do they really belong here? They just don't seem to fit in what is billed as the "Costuming Community of the Halo Universe". It's really a shame because some of these unrelated projects are quite good, just misplaced. How about a dedicated "Non-Halo" subforum for projects outside the Halo universe? That way people can proudly post their non-Halo projects and get together to discuss them without having them scattered throughout the site.



Maybe that would help to refocus the 405th - we were well on our way a few years ago but I can't help but feel that this recent free-for-all approach has hurt our development as a dedicated prop community...

I would have to agree with you dogWizard if i wanted to look "everything else" i look at the rpf or other sites that specialize in what im trying to do.



But you do see more an more non halo suits in the halo pep section



Then about halo dying? I personally dont think so the fans will still be there look at reach had around 1 million players playing the beta. Yes halo wont be in the spotlight but even star wars have never stayed in the spotlight
