    1. Keepi Cool (Under)suit

So I have been looking around for a while and cannot find anyone that has made one, but found some Shirts made sometimes for sports stuff but not a whole body suit...

What am I yammerin' on about? Liquid cooled (under) Under Suits for comfort.

I'll be blunt, I am a large guy and I produce a lot of heat, add a few layers of foam, fiberglass or other materials and I bake myself even in an A/C room, let alone outside in the sun.

So... I looked into cooling, fans were a nice start but frankly after an hour or so all they do is blow on my sweat, and that helps some - but not in areas where airflow isn't possible.

So I was figuring, a couple of catsuits for bottom/top layer, and in between put a set of tubing that would carry(via pump action) a cool liquid around as a circulatory system, connected to a small back "radiator" and fan system or even more complicated/expensive type systems.

Problem is finding some decent tubing for this. Ideally flat square tubing would be perfect, I think. to minimize bulk and maximize surface contact.

Low pressure is all that would be needed, and since it's not really cooling anything 'too hot' (like a computer's chips) it shouldn't really need a large radiator or fan system to cool off the water/liquid after it's done a lap or two.

In fact a more reasonably small idea is to use cold chemicals in circulation stuff our body temperatures (even in a confined suit in the heat/sun) can't really 'heat up' too much.

This shirt has the right idea but.. not the right placement.. that cumbersome hip unit woud ruin most suit ideas. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/big...asp?RecID=8831

Plus it would need re-lined to be a full body suit and not 2 seperate systems.

What do you think? This worth it? or just pack your suit with some thin ice gel packs that are supposed to last about 4 hours to cool off with?

Ice Packs would be cheaper, but requre a bit more room in more 'moving' places, like the legs.

I have this cooling system and it will probably take 4 canisters to cool you for the whole day depending on how much you use per burst.

Ok so there have been many suggestions on this subject on several other threads, but there has also been much over ananlyzing. To keep cool in a suit you need heat transfer. Ok two ways to do this, conduction (your heat to another object) or convection (your heat to a liquid). These are done best at the Veinous points. Veinous points are where the veins and arteries are closest to the skin, allowing your heat from the blood to be transfered out. (also most usually used for getting a pulse from these arteries). These places are the groin, the neck, the wrists and brachial area (IE armpits). Any small device, no matter the 5*-10* difference in Temp APPLIED to these areas will have a significant difference on body temp. That apposed to needing a 15*-20* change in a shirt or other clothing item. A small pump, with reservior of cold water and the tubing running to thses places. I'll post back when I have the supply list.
