It's true... either way you do it, I'm sure it will look great.

Small update. Finally got around to doing some more. Here's the neck seal. To make it fit right, I made two "(" shapes and sewed them together in the middle so they curved with my neck. It attaches in the back with velcro, even though it looks bacon-ish right now, i'll have someone helping me when I put the full suit on, I'm sure.

      Getting things moving again. Woo!
Here i am.. sitting at the edge of my seat. Not because of excitement.. but because my cat decided to sleep on the other 90%.

It's cushiony fabric sandwiched between two layers of spandex. If you try out this method, remember to use the non-shiny side of the fabric, because then it won't look cheesy.

I'm off to attempt the strange front belly part. O_@ I'm not sure if i'll succeed. I'll try two different methods.. craft foam and/or sculpting. Wish me luck! I'm going to need it...

Spartans aren't born their built, thru blood, sweat, and tears. And maybe a little Fiberglass.

      MAJOR UPDATE!!!

I have finally completed a piece I've been wanting to do since I started. I did ze belleh armor! I wanted to make it out of rubber or whatever, but I fell back to foam cuz i'm cheap. Anyways, I used my duct tape mannequin to make the patterns. I first measured on my own body and drew the designs onto the tape. (First rule of pattern making: always separate your form from your tape, lest you won't be able to separate them. I used saran wrap). When I was satisfied with the penciling, I inked it with a felt pen, and then I cut it off the mannequin and cut the pieces out.

Here it is, all purdy and put together. As always, the white is craft foam and the grey is EVA foam. I used 2 layers of craft foam to achieve that ridged look, and I sanded down the EVA pieces in the garage. I glued them together. The belly armor connects in the back using that white piece of craft foam and velcro. I put all my under suit layers together for this round of photos to see what it looks like.

      ....

Is it vanity or pride that makes me want to strut in my armor every time I finish a piece??? XDD I feel epic.

I still need my backplate and spine... Hm. I should do that next or the cod piece? Well, I've already started on the cod I guess. >.> (Did you notice?...)

Close up of my lady hips. <3

WHY DO I ALWAYS UPDATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?????
