      Picture time!
I finally got some pictures uploaded. Tell me what you guys think?

[sorry about the bad quality, its kinda difficult to get a good picture of your head when you can't see lol]

      Front:

      Side:

Both helmets [The one on the right is my newest one!]:

And TJX62, about the hot box, I thought it took a long time for resin to cure so if I couldn't leave the box unattended wouldn't I be watching it for hours letting it cure?

Since resin cures with heat, a hot box would decrease the time it took to cure something. I guess "unattended" wasn't the proper term, I ment more along the lines of check on it periodicaly. Resin is flamable, so the last thing you wanna do is not check on it for an hour or so, and then when you look at it, all thats left is a flaming box.

Glad to see you back, how is the new job? The new Helmet is looking good, very clean folds and it looks like it is a great fit on your head! Good job!

About the hot box, the fumes will still get out of it so it needs to be placed in a well ventilated area. Outdoors is very well ventilated, but it may be simply too cold in the winter (unless you add a few extra light bulbs). I know here in Quebec it is too cold to leave the box outside this winter. If you have a garage, or a toolshed or some other building that isn't used much you could try the hotbox there, being out of the wind would help alot. I saw one member set up a hotbox in her bathroom which had a ventilation fan in it, but then your bathroom will smell like resin for a while.

How do you manage to get your pep work so crisp? Great work!

Hmm, I guess I'm kinda getting ahead of myself here lol I still have a lot of pieces to pep. I don't think the hotbox will really work with me since I don't have a shed or workshop to put it in while the resin cures. I'm just really excited about sanding and detailing my armor pieces lol!

And about my pieces looking so clean and crisp, I basically just use a ruler with the pen to crease the fold and then fold it very carefully. I'm kinda a perfectionist so I really try hard to make it look good lol

By the way thanks for all the comments guys! I'm still working on the forearms and I'll post pics when they are done!

This is just random advice, you can take it or leave it, but I highly suggest at least resining the outside, and rondoing the inside of the pieces as you finish pepping them. In their paper-only state they are very easy to damage, and when paper is bent it stays bent, and the more pieces you make the higher the risk of one getting smashed! I'm paranoid like that though, and that awesomely clean pepakura work of yours would be a shame to see crushed.

Very very good work on it so far!

Katsu I appreciate the advice and I do agree with you but I can't really resin my pieces in this cold. Its gonna get to -20 C this week and last week it was around -35 C. And I don't have a shed or anything to put my resined pieces in. Unless someone has an idea of what I could do haha

      There's always aqua resin!

I don't know how well it'd work in negative temps, but the hotbox is supposed to hold the heat in, and so long as you keep snow/rain from falling on the box, it should be okay to leave outside so long as you check on it periodically. I did mine in bad weather, we had a patio umbrella I used to protect the pieces while I heated them with a space heater.

Hmm, ya I'm still not sure if I should go with a hotbox or not. I really want to resin my pieces but I'm nervous about it in this weather and such I really don't want to ruin any pieces if it doesn't cure properly. Stupid cold weather....
