Hey everybody, we had an amazing time at Colossalcon! It was my first ever con, and it exceeded all expectations! I never imagined it would be as truly enjoyable as it was, and the response from everybody was outstanding. I also met a few other 405th'ers there, but I didn't get any usernames, so if any of you guys read this, thanks for helping to make my first con experience so awesome!
Unfortunately, I had nowhere to carry my phone around, so I couldn't take any pictures. So I've spent just about all of today watching slideshow after slideshow of pictures from the thing on youtube trying to find the two of us. after probably ten slideshows, I'd only found about three pictures of us, so I gave up (I found this lack of pictures strange, because I swear we must've taken at least 100 on friday and saturday alone). In the future I might search a bit more and see if I can find some others, but for now here's the few my cousin took combined with the ones I found online:
I took the chief suit, and Devin was rocking the ODST.
This is my friend Matt who also went up with us, I figured I should show him here because I made the helmet for him. (One of my few successful ventures in vac-forming) That, and he did a pretty damn good job with the rest of the suit if you ask me.
Also, this was another 405th member I hung around with for a while on saturday. (Whats up Andy?)
Now as I said before, I had an absolutely amazing time. The whole experience blew me away, and I plan on attending every con I possibly can in the future (speaking of, anyone planning on going to Matsuricon in august?)
And lastly, if you've never attended a con before, I
highly recommend it. It's really a life changing experience, and you will not regret it.
Anyway, the thread is far from over, I've still got several ODSTs to make, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I'm on vacation till like june 25th, but when I get back, updates shall begin again. As always, thanks for checking it out!
