Yeah, lol. I don't think that will happen, I'm second company ultramarine all the way. Lol. Your build is coming along pretty nicely btw. Interesting what you are doing with the duct tape.

I'm making a set for myself at the moment, Salamander's Chapter. My way of 'Civilians should be saved first!' doesn't sit with Rowboat Girlypants . I have a fantastic thought of one day going to SupaNova (not sure if America has it. It's basically Australia's ComicCon) with four mates as a 5-man Combat Squad. If only...

Yeah I am not sure America gas one if those, and salamders would be awesome! I like them too but you need to make sure you get alot of scale details on your armor, that's what makes a salamander after all. And at least you have more people that are interested in the hobby, I seem to be the only person I know of in central VA that has any interest in this kind of costume making, plenty of people like what I'm doing but noone dedicated enough to make one.

ok so I sanded out the rest of the visible pockmarks with spot putty, and got two coats of white on the helmet.
Still waiting on the eye lenses to come in the mail as well as the padding insert.

still have to smooth out the eyes more for the lenses
also got the chest sanded down working in the spot putty now to fill in the holes and pock marks

Alright so as disgusted as I was with that paint I had to run out to the hardware store to get some more, I took everyones advice and went with semi-gloss. and after a labor intensive morning of sanding off that flaky crap that other paint left behind I started applying the new stuff. It went on sooo much smoother than the other stuff, no splitting, no flaking, just perfect.
      And so some pics.

And guess what, helmet padding came in the mail today as well as the lenses I am going to use for the eyes!

Also I got alot of sanding done on the chest(By no means done) I am out of bondo and spot putty : ( I have to wait until I get paid again to restock on supplies. I used my Dremel to smooth down the edges of the arm holes and torso hole to be able to test fit it too.

And note I can lower my arm more than that I was just holding it up so I could foresee how much padding I am going to have to put inside to lift it up where I want it.

And I had to get a guns shot in there too, but the great news is, it doesnt look like I am going to have to split the chest. I was able to don it on and off just fine, well at least not without a few snickers from my wife cuz I looked funny doing it.

and P.S. if I look a little thinner its because I DO, I have lost 13 pounds in 4 weeks on my diet so GO ME!

So I got the helmet padding insert put in today, I have a little work inside yet to do though. I am going to incorporate chin straps so the helmet can stay on better and not rock around.

And then I decided to put on the chest and play around with it, I still need to smooth out the inside of the collar to free up some movement inside.

Wow that's looking amazing! It is too bad you chose Ultramarines, a Deathwatch or Blood Angel would be nice to see, haha! I might have missed it, but where did you get the files?
