Master Sword and Hylian Shield Build

Hey everyone, as some of you may know, Im currently working on a 4-person ODST squad build. But when I get tired of working on the ODST, Ive been taking quick breaks to work on some of my many side projects. This is by far my favorite of those projects.
Anyone who has every played a Zelda game knows the master sword and hylian shield for their unique design thats like nothing else in video game weaponry. A while back I was lucky enough to stumble upon the pepakura files for these great weapons.
So far, I have the sword fully pepped and the shield printed out. It was actually an amazingly simple pep, nothing like all those annoying beveled edges like in the ODST peps. (Hugh, your files are amazing, but some of them are damn hard!)

Anyway, here is the fully pepped sword!

Thats it for now, but Ill be sure to update this thread whenever I get some progress. Sadly though, that probably wont be very often, seeing as this is just a side project, and ODST is getting my full attention right now. I expect ill probably have the shield pepped by the end of december, but we'll see. Until then, thanks for checking out my stuff!

I scratch built my Master Sword and Ordon Sword, but I'd love to go back and redo my Master Sword (Since I repainted and gave away my original to my friend for her Dark Link.) I think I have some pep files somewhere from when that guy made the life size Link pepakura project. Where those the files you used, or were they from a different source?

umm, yeah im pretty sure I got them off of some website that was doing a life sized link. If I recall correctly, the banner at the top of the site was yellow or something like that. Not sure who the files are by, but theyre very good quality. everything fits together really nice. the sword is actually divided up into three different files (handle, hilt, and blade), and the shield has two (one for the shield itself, and one for the tri-force and other details that extend from it).

Hey, got the shield pepped! I still have to do the separate file for the details on she shield, but its a very quick pep, so it shouldn't take long. after I resin and bondo them, Im planning to try my hand at molding them. I just ordered a starter kit from smooth-on, and it should be in by Tuesday. So we'll see, hopefully I dont completely destroy the thing when I try to mold it... Anyway, here's the shield!

      Thanks for checking it out!

Alright everyone, Ive made leaps and bounds on this project since the last update! the shield is totally finished, and im actually in the process of making a mold of the sword (the mold is about halfway done, then ill just have to paint it). Here you go:

I traced the eagle pattern onto some painters tape to make a stencil, and it worked surprisingly well!

The details were just resined, i didnt see a need to rondo them. I painted them, then secured them on with hot glue.

Heres the sword with silicone rubber painted on. I need to pic up some clay to make the shim to separate the outer shell, them I can finish it up.

      Heres the finished shied.

Heres the shield alongside my MKVI helmet, and the Skyrim Dragonborn helmet I just finished up on a commission.

Ok, I hope you all like it, once I get the sword finished, I'll get another update up. Thanks!

Hey, Ive successfully molded my first piece! last week I got the mold done, and a couple days ago I did my first casting. However, I ran into a few setbacks. The thickness of the silicone rubber was fine, but unfortunately, I didnt make the mother mold on one of the halves thick enough, so I had to scrap it. So I was left with one functioning half of a mold. I then decided to put this half on a flat surface, and just pour plastic into it. This gave me a perfect half of a sword, perfect to mount on a wall as a decoration! So now Ill just paint these half-swords, attach a wall mount to the back, and sell them as wall decorations. Here's the progress I've made since the last update:

Ok, so at this point, I also have this casting primed. So Ill get it painted, get the wall hook installed, and post some pictures up. Stay tuned.
