Hey guys, I am a first time builder and new to the 405th. I'm using EVA foam for this build, and drawing my own templates by hand.

Did some lurking before I started my build, and figured I'd throw up a thread so you guys can watch me flail about trying to make this project look legit. Please enjoy the chaos.

Here is my progress up until now. HERE is a slideshow (101 pics of the progress so far)

The helmet was molded, cast and painted by Jeremie Sloan of Armory Props, and the initial hex-pattern visor you see in the helmet was made by Jose Valdez- also of Armory. I really wanted that rounder, more spherical look for my visor, so decided to get to work making my own. The rounded, reflective visor you see in the video below is my own creation. Watch in 720, or the hex pattern gets washed out.

So the last chest piece came out too small, so went back to the drawing board. Also lined the helmet and seated the padding so I could mount the visor.

And a clip of the lined/mounted visor. Closed up some of the gaps, I feel like it looks better than it did. It's still not permanently fixed, as i still need a switch for the fan.

That's a very cool visor in the helmet - really like the hexagon pattern! How'd you do that?

This is amazingly clean work. Usually you don't see results like this until people get done taking foamies to it.

Dude! that is so amazing! if you don't mind me asking, how did you get the curvature on the chest piece using one huge piece, dide you just score the back or hotknife? it looks super clean and i'm about to start my foam build after the halo 4 rocket launcher

Thank you sir. :D

Used my heat gun and a little scoring on the back. Rocket launcher sounds like a fun project, link?

Cheers man!

about to start the thread after i post all the stuff from my rogue helmet! definitly send you a link when i get it up! have you ever used a hot knife, dillon (red comando suit) used that some on his suit i believe and it makes cutting all the pieces out lightening fast!

holy hell! im definitely subbing this thread! if you can accomplish that level with just the EVA foam, i cant wait to see when you get it closer to finishing.
