Ok as I stated on my last thread ( MK IV Heavy MJOLNIR ) I am waiting on 3d Printer for Xmas to do that build. So for now its in Hiatus.

So in the meantime I decided I still wanted a suit for November release of Xbox One. So I have decided on the step down to the MK VI build. This thread will be pic heavy, and it will be updated regularly ( I was slack with my Iron Man helm which I need to redo back section after a child related mishap/breakage :p )

So without further ado here's what I have so far. I started with the most common part/time intensive piece. The Helm.
So far I have the whole top section of the helm plus back/neck section pepped. All thats left is the Visor/Face/Chin section. Unsure whether or not I will be Vacforming the Faceplate/Self tinting or Using the Helmet Visor approach at this point.

The file I used was the HD FS version. Due to experience from first pep I have been trying my hardest to maintain Uniformity/Symmetry with this Build.

So thats it for now. Just slowly pepping and cant wait to see finished helm.

Be sure to use the supports that are included with this file; they are essential IME. The supports will help with some of the sagging and out-of-shape pieces that form. Beyond that, it's looking pretty clean so far. Keep it up.

Don't forget, you can also cut out any misshapen parts in the pep and reglue! Great job though!

Ok update time. Still have a couple supports to add to it and the Visor will go on last. But otherwise pep is Done :cool

I think I have a achieved my goal of symmetry with this build and am more than happy with the result. This morning once it warms up a bit I will be Resining the outside and unlike the Iron Man helm I will be applying a rondo slush coat before Glassing. More weight I know, but It'll help fill the details before glassing.

As always any thoughts/criticism's are welcome.

Cheers

Ok Update. Finished 2 coats or rondo to help with Fibreglass which is planned for tomorrow.

I am more than happy with result, I only experienced one area of warping ( Lower chin section ) which should be easily fixed with bondo.

Here you can see the warping of lower chin section

This is the reason for the warping. Due to the amount of detail areas/ridges I poured alot of rondo in chin/mouth section. This provided me with 2 things, 1 a nice flat area to fibreglass, and 2 a lot of support/strength because I'm sure it will be a major carry point ( When picked up etc )

Internal of helm. In this shot you can see I applied a rather thick coating along the Middle tiered/step area. Once again it was for support and for ease of fibreglassing.

In the brim Im not sure if you can see the rondo, but I used MS Paint to highlight where I filled with rondo. I knew it would be a major pain to Fibreglass the brim and didnt want to completely fill the brim due to weight. So I have a curved pour line inside the front edge which should still make fibreglassing ok and at the same time not have weight pulling front end down when worn.

Thats it for now, any thoughts/criticisms are welcome as always.

Cheers guys an gals

Edit: I also forgot to mention that other than areas I thought needed it I kept the rondo application to a minimum due to the resulting weight. And also I haven't used rotary tool for a couple of edges/support bases that need trimming as yet. So excuse any you see.
