Glitch's Caboose Build!

Make sure you carry around a speaker that has the recordings of all of caboose's greatest quotes haha.

Update:

If you can pull up the slack on that stomach undersuit and give it some detail, this build would be absolutely perfect. As it is I'm extremely impressed! Good work, Spartan!

Thankyou!!
the stomach undersuit is temporary, Im yet to get to work on a full undersuit for it, (SOOOOON!)

what wrong with the chest? it looks fine to me

It's not finished yet haha
it isnt actually connected at the sides because I have to reinforce the back a bit and do some clean up, It's just been so cold I havent had the heart to go into the garage to do it!
I also havent painted the details on the chest/back either, and the whole build isn't done yet because I want to put lights and some magnets in certain areas for weapons to stick on.

Great JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This looks really good!

Thankyou!
I really love these replies, It's good to know my patience with this build paid off :)

I do a decent impression and know a few lines off by heart, but I've been thinking about that as an alternative :)

UPDATE:
I've been super busy because of life, but I've been working and pepping in my spare time and on top of that I am graduating this friday!!! ( very exciting :) )
so I do have something to show from my past week of painstaking cutting, folding and gluing of fiddly pep pieces
A HD halo 3 MA5C (Assault rifle)!

So here half of it was in a billion little pieces
14709745335_6938f2d176_z.jpg

Then eventually it looked like this
14706568321_e5dd87a4e5_z.jpg

And the clip even fits inside!
14523085109_5b18e8b428_z.jpg

and here it is next to my slightly larger resined low def version
14707348104_71309a8dce_z.jpg

my plan is to resin coat the outside, slush rondo on the inside and then fill with foam (or a lightweight filler of some kind) and attach it all together somehow, maybe even do some bogging on the outside,
but I'll see how it goes, I have an impression this isnt going to be a quick project to do!
and since you like caboose so much I'll throw in a pic of him from all sides for you, he's still to be finished!

(you'll see a few things that need perfecting here ;) haha)

congrats on graduating :)
I like the rifle, i still need to build one lol.
Keep up the good work, armor is still righteous :)

I'm very confused, as a new recruit who's going to attempt to do Caboose for his first build, what exactly isn't finished? You said you're not done and now I have no idea what's wrong. Isn't that what the finishing project is supposed to look like? Are the pieces of armor supposed to be attached in some sort of way to the undersuit? And what are you supposed to wear for the underarmor, anything specific? Because I'm planning on wearing a wetsuit with a wetsuit mask and boots for it.

Looking awesome Glitch! I wouldn't have patience to pep a weapon, but seeing as how caboose is coming along it shouldn't be disappointing

it looks to me to be chefbzd from rpf, but i think the undersuit is different

Also saw this guy at GC Supanova

helmet is a cast, but the rest is a foam build, anybody know who this is?

No one actually answered your question as to who this is so I thought I'd just let you know thats one of Daniel Bignoux aka Xtremenoob's suits. Not sure if its actually him or not, he's sold two to other people.

Your build is looking fantastic! In regards to your undersuit, maybe try something similar to what myself and Black Underdog5 (as well as many others I'm sure) have done. Make it exactly that, an undersuit. Add areas of detail to a black shirt in the spaces that are visible and need detail and leave the rest blank, this way it will stay on the appropriate part of your body. Definitely check out Black Underdog5's custom undersuit, while its Halo 4 it will still give you a good idea on how you could go about doing your own.

Update:

I keep coming back here and showing all my friends your build because it is so perfect.
Looking very nice there Caboose :)

Its amazing how much a better pep makes a weapon look.

Thanks everyone!!!
It is turning out really great :)

Well, by not done I mean i havent perfected it yet, I could wear it as is with my stormtrooper undersuit and be fine with it, buuuuut I'm the kind of person that is somewhere between perfectionist and 'that looks good enough'
so I have a mighty need to finish up some minor details on the suit,
what I haven't done is:
- some details on the back of the helmet, the vents on the front of the helmet ( I've repainted them because i wasnt happy with them)
- some cleanup, sanding and bog work on the back piece, also some reinforcement (I painted it in a rush for supanova and it's not quite finished on the inside/outside)
- neck is missing the black detail parts around the collar area, I'm making them out of foam when i finish the back piece

Also I reallllllly would not recommend wearing a wetsuit with your armour, I've had a few years experience wearing storm and clone trooper armour and it gets really hot in there,
I'd suggest looking for compression suits like cyclists and runners wear.

Haha awesome!
I'm actually fairly sure he sold one of those suits to one of my friends up here in QLD recently, he really loves it!
And thanks for the undersuit advice, I'm still yet to attempt it but I think you might be right about how to add the detail :)
(I also see a lot of your facebook page posts, your foam builds are great!)

Other than that I havent done much, I painted the black details on the chest and did a little work on the helmet, but still a bit to do!
updates will come soooon!

Update:

So like I said I finished off the last little details on the front half of the chest, including the lock details made from some craft foam!
I also painted all the black parts on and did some slight weathering with some silver but you cant really see it in this pic, I didnt want to do it as much on this piece because I really like how my chest came out
so I'm keeping that nice big blue area clean!
Onto the back piece next, as you can see I havent even trimmed it around the neck properly, lots of clean up to do on it!

Update:

Took about 5 hours to hand draw all the detail lines on the back of the helmet and carve them out with a dremel,
next is painting the back black again, adding some details, carving out the vents and finally the visor!

Update:

Decided my shoulders were too small so working on new ones, wondering if these ones are the right size or a little too big?
makes me look very bulky (excuse the pj's!)

14773942308_8de85f436b_c.jpg

Also got some more black paint tonight, (ran out last night AFTER the trip to bunnings ugh!)
so the back of the helmet is painted once again!

14773952558_09017a9041_c.jpg

And lastly I found a curved visor at the local motorbike accessory shop!
It has the perfect curve to it! finally going to have a visor in!
just going to lightly mist it with super gold chrome and put tint on the inside, so I can see out and no one can see in!

Update:

So the other day I finally finished the back piece and got the go ahead to attend the opening of EB games's new Zing store at Robina,
So i slapped in the temporary visor, temporarily glued the chest/back and ab piece together and went and had some fun!
still going to do bigger shoulders and a proper visor (when i'm brave enough to paint and install it) and all the lights, other than that I'm really happy with the suit!
just an under suit to build after its all done!

I'm also in this video, so happy with how the suit looks!
