Hello 405th, finally, I start on the road of armor building. My hope is to have this project finished before Halloween, and if all goes to plan start and maybe finish a set for my son by then. Any and all input is appreciated. Thank you in advance for joining me on this journey of creativity.

Here is a concept of what I hope my armor will resemble once complete. I started with the Venator helmet by JTM1997 and Hyperballistik. I chose this helmet as the number of parts to pep is less than other helmets and would be a could start for a noob Pep'er (is that even a word?) Plus, it really works with the paint scheme I have in mind

This the first piece I cut and folded. Since I forgot to obtain a red ink pen I decided to use a highlighter to mark the valley folds. Worked pretty well. To not damage the wife's furniture I tried using some cardboard as a cutting surface. Didn't work so well, and my cuts weren't as smooth as I would have liked. So I decided to use one of the many cutting boards we have for cooking. Worked like a charm, and I was able to get some cleaner cuts.

Here I added the first two layers.
After hearing from some members on how much they hate Pepping, I don't mind it too much. I've always enjoyed building stuff out of legos and putting puzzles together. All and all, I actually find it relaxing. Will post more pics as I progress.

I am not sure what your budget is like, but I too used a cutting board until just recently. I finally bit the bullet and picked up one of those 24"x18" Fiskars self healing mats. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for about $20. It is worth every penny and it is truly self healing, especially considering how hard I tend to cut.

Also, have you tried super glue yet? It all comes down to personal preference as to what adhesive you use, but I suggest trying at least the main three and seeing what works best for you. They are hot glue, super glue, and craft glue. They each have their pros and cons, but for me, I use superglue and yet to have my fingers stick together from it :) The con to hot glue will rear its ugly head if you ever sand past the cardstock layer during the bondo/shaping phase. Just ask Cereal Kill3r! The obvious pro to hot glue is you have time to set your pieces, and can easily reset them if needed.

Anyways, looking great! And remember, the pep part is your foundation... take your time and make absolute sure that everything is as symmetrical as possible!

Thanks Evakura. I went with hot glue as it is what I have on hand, and also, I don't trust myself with superglue :) When I can I plan on getting that very same cutting mat from Wal-Mart. Sure my wife will be happy as well lol.

Well... I believe I have now seen everything...... for now.

But on a serious note this is a truly unique idea and I am exited to see just how you plan on bringing the Merc with a mouth into Halo.

I was going to do an Iron Deadpool suit last year but switched gears and made my multiplayer armor from Halo 4 instead.
I'm digging the concept!

I'd like to see how this turns out, thats a really cool idea for a paint scheme
Thanks, I've always tried to get a similar color scheme in-game but never liked how it looked.

lol, I originally was just going the route of the red and black paint. Over the months while planning, I've decided to give the armor a Deadpool'esque flavor. There will be duel Mag pistols, and some "4th Wall" style editing of some of the armor labels (kind of hard to explain without a visual, you'll see). Maybe even a couple of swords on the back :D

An Iron Deadpool would be sweet, you should still do it.

Did some more work on the helmet...

The back gave me some real trouble. The folds just didn't want to line up properly.

Some of the front and sides.

The last piece for the day. That back piece is worrying me. I'm hoping that when the top is added and connects the front and back the warp will dissipate. I'm also thinking about putting in some braces for support before I go any further.

Taking a break for lunch, then on to the brace situation.

Here's the brace I mentioned. Placed here it helps relieve the warping in the back.

I finished the front.

I'm really enjoying this project. I should have the helmet pepped by the end of the day, then I'm going to start the torso. I'm hoping I'll have my resin by Friday.

I'm going to have to cut it in two to be able to wear and use magnets or something to keep the pieces together. I'm a little worried that the helmet might be a bit small. Will have to see after I harden it and cut in half. Here's hoping.

I'm a little worries

Very nice and clean pep. I'm not sure if I've yet seen a Venator being built yet, let alone a Deadpool one. I'll be watching this with interest, the Merc with a Mouth is in my opinion one of most BA marvel characters. In the mean time keep up the great work.

Hey Darthdrow, Just a question. Do you find it easier or harder to start from the bottom of the helmet? I usually start from the top my self

Thanks. Though I haven't seen the helmet on the forums I did find some Google pics of one done by Hyperbalistik (he unfolded the pep). It looked awesone. Agreed that the 'Pool' is the man.

In hindsight it would have been easier to start from the top. That last thin piece on top was a pain to glue as I had to put my huge mits through the neck past that cross bar. Lesson learned.

ok I need to have a fan girl moment. OMG!!!!! lol ok, this is AWESOME. Great concept! I love Deadpool. He's awesome. Your work looks great!

I second this fangirlyness. :D Deadpool is the greatest Anti-hero ever and in Spartan form.... I don't think anyone can handle how epic this is.

looks great! super clean pep deadpool. keep it up.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I have started on the torso and finished pepping the front.

Here it is showing the scale. Look big enough? (the piece, not the gut :D)

Just finished printing out the rest of the torso. Time to cut, fold and glue.

Indeed I try and start from the top on each helmet but then again I guess it depends on the helmet ?

And it's looking really good keep up the good work! :)

I have finally finished cutting out the rest of the pieces for the torso (my poor index finger is numb.) A total of 31 pages. Later this week I will fold. I'm thinking of making a duck tape mannequin before I finish gluing the torso, so I have somewhere to hang it once finished. Will have to see how my finances are this weekend.

Oh, and I just noticed I got bumped up to infantryman. My thanks to the powers that be. :D
