Need Help with Pepakura Mask Model

Hmmm well I need to do this with Pepakura with Cardstock in order to understand the process of Prop Making Raw Casts and Molds.

Also HALOGODDESS

I noticed you removed some of the fold lines in the file. Now I have a question, if the template has no fold lines, do I not fold it? Or what? Cause my next Pepakura project is a TITANFALL Helmet. And I noticed that that file is missing some fold lines. Was that intentional?

Yes, I removed some of the lines. Sometimes there are some fold lines in a file that is not fully necessary. This also helps with the finished product since it reduces how much bondo you need to use in order to make it look more smooth and not so "edgy". :p

Ok so here is my progress. Im taking my time with this build. Using super glue then hot glue and im taking things steady and slow. I'll show you guys a pic once the model is complete.

You still can post a complete one just nice and fun to see bits and pieces of a project as it progresses also can be help full to get pointers and help if needed

Ok so Ill do a progress shot so far on what I have. I took HaloGoddess tips and advice and took my time and went steady and this is the overall result of two pages of the file completed. Only 4 more pages to go now.

Two quick suggestions. Starting at the top of the helmet may help with maintaining alignment. Second would be pay close attention to lining up the pieces. Dry fitting the piece before doing the glue really helps me. If you look at the red circle areas below, you can see the alignment gets worse as you follow the piece. A small alignment error will get bigger later if not corrected.

Are you using super glue by chance? The super glue is faster but leaves no time to adjust the piece before it dries. Fast grab tacky glue or hot glue would give you a little more time for adjustment.

Edit Add: It looks like the fold line bends are kind of spread out on the paper. Are you using anything to score the fold lines before bending and pre-bending before gluing the piece?

Yes I am scoring with a ruler and exacto knife and I am aware of the miss alignment on certain areas but it doesn't seem to bother the build. But Ill try to be more careful on the other side. What you see is the first and second page completed. the other side will be cutting out the next page's pieces. And to be honest, I did start at the top. That is how HaloGoddess made the file.

Here is the next Progress shot. So far things are looking well. Been doing a page a day and taking it slow. Gonna do the eyes next and the cylinders last. Id say this isn't all bad for my third Pepakura Model. My last two were practice. I made a small Final Fantasy 7 Buster sword and then a life sized one. Only the small one looks extremely good.... The big one is mounted on my wall. But anyways here ya go.

And the mask is now complete! I just need to put on the struts and it will be ready for fiberglassing. Unless I find something more easier to use. Anyways here is the finished Pepakura Model. Thanks HaloGoddess, you were a big help here! :D

Thanks :D Now Im gonna need all the info I can get about fiberglassing and resin. I think that's the next step after Pepakura right?

Alrighty, the mask including the struts are now completed. The whole file Completed! Now to look into fiber glassing and resin. Managed to buy some fiber glassing cloth to cut up into squares. The resin I could not locate.
