New UK recruit looking for feedback

Hey all,

I've been snooping around the forums while build up my armour, but I thought it was about time to say hello and of course ask for some advice.

First off here's a few shots of what I've got so far.






As you can see they are made of Eva foam using pepakura files that I'm just slightly modifying. I have also used some filler and then pva glued the whole thing to give it a seal all over.

Now I've decided I'd like to try and make a mould of it. So I got some silicone caulk stuff and mixed it up with some glycerine and a dab of paint.

Does anyone have any tips on doing this method, or I was wondering if it was actually cheaper to use proper silicone mould making kit?

Just wanted to get someones opinion on the resin these guys do. Would it be any good for helmet casting?

looks like it should be fine. It's a Polyurethane resin and states its fine in silicone moulds

your doing great so far we all have to start somewhere might i suggest dummying in odd and end pieces to fill in the gaps in the back of the chest piece...also what is that purple substance?
