*grabs a chair and settles in* This is gonna be good. I'm very excited to see what the community does with their Destiny builds, and having already seen what you can do, I know this is going to be a stellar build.

Time to grab some popcorn and watch the Legendary skills of Roxyroo at work. Looking forward to seeing this build!

This is going to be magnificent. Glad that I can be here this time to see you, Roxyroo! You're on your way to become legend. Destiny style.

Here we go!

There is always something awesome coming when you post also the amazing work being done on Destiny builds so far I can't wait to see what you can make.

Awwwwwe yeah we got Rozy back in the game! XD can't wait to see how this comes out.

Awesome! I started my Hunter build as well. Which Oakleys are those? I found some Fox racing goggles for $40 that look very close to game.

"Hello, boys! I'm baaaaaack~~~!!"
I'll probably come back again tonight to actually do some updates. I'm working on the knee guards right now. When I have pics, I'll post.

hey roxy is there gonna be a gathering for the release?

I don't know, actually. I was planning on just going to my local Gamestop. XD I guess maybe we could contact the Microsoft store again. We did a Halo gathering at Fashion Square Mall when Halo 4 released. I didn't pre-order there though. >.>

I actually got these off of ebay. It even says "made in china" on the top. They're SUPER nice though! I might order another pair just for snowboarding! haha. Here, check it out. They also have blue and grey goggles. ---> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fashion-Ski...pherical-Lens-Anti-Fog-3-colors-/231215097524

Hey RoxyRoo, just a heads up that I'll be moving this thread to its new home in the Non-Halo Costumes and Props forum.

Yeah, I noticed that. >_> All these changes are going to take a bit to get used to.

--------------------------

Time is running out. I have only a week before SabotenCon, and two weeks before the Release. I finally have a day off so I'm working on the costume again. These are the knee pads. I'll add an armor knee guard later, but at least I have the base now. These are made from white spandex and yellow/white faux leather I used from an old hand bag I've been saving the materials for.

1) I started with pattern making. I used newspaper and tape and covered my knee with it. I copied the patterns (roughly) onto the fabric and then cut it out and sewed them together. Why patterns? So I don't waste fabric. Spandex/Lycra is expensive. Probably one of the more expensive fabrics out there. I decided Spandex was the best for the Knee simply for comfort and movement purposes.

2) I cut out the "knee guard" portion of the pattern and did the same method onto the vinyl (faux leather). Vinyl is difficult to work with because it doesn't fold as easy as normal fabric, plus it also has a lot of friction against the plastic of the sewing machine. You have to grab and pull it through as you sew, WHILE folding it to get the curves right. I cut a triangle shape at the bottom to create the roundness that is the knee. If I hadn't, it'd bunch up and look stupid. lol

3) Then came attaching the knee guards to the spandex. I sewed two paralel, 1-cm long lines around the points I wished to put those decorative rivets. After that was done, I pushed the rivets through. I did a test fit and it worked okay, but I saw that the vinyl still flared out. I fixed that by doing some deft sewing, following marks I drew with a pencil to make sure the edges matched up right where I needed them to be set.

4) aaaaaand THERE! Now the vinyl and spandex look awesome.

Come on roxy you can do it!! looks awesome haha :). I am almost done with the titan build check it out in the new recruits!

If you're looking to improve on your armor I have access to a vacuum former on campus and I'm only about a 30 minute drive from you. I could easily vacuum form some hard plate pads for you.

It's not Necro'd just yet. I've just been busy (and distracted by playing Destiny...). I've found other pieces I want to build, but I'll be keeping my chest piece. Here's some more progress pics.

I use newspaper and masking tape ontop of my duct tape dummy.

Using multiple references, I draw the pattern using a green marker.

Then I used a red marker to define the lines I wanted to keep. Now all I have to do is cut it out and copy the pattern onto foam.

Here's the back. It'll look better after a cape is over it. LOL

I'll be back soon, hopefully. This weekend looks pretty busy. :( I need to spend more time building rather than playing the game. Wish me luck with that.
