VCON 39 - Vancouver BC's premier science fiction, fantasy & games convention, Oct 3-5

So I just got roped into volunteering for this event, and thought I would send out an official invitation to everyone at the 405th. This event is a science fiction, fantasy, and gaming convention held in Vancouver, BC (actually Surrey, BC this year). This year's theme is Military Might: From Swords & Sorcery to Phasers & Grasers, which is right up our alley! See the bottom of this post for links to more details about the event.


If we can get a group of us going I will organize some cool meet-up events within 20 minutes from the convention location. (Who's up for a Cosmic Halo bowling tournament?) So first item of business, roll call; currently these 405th members will be attending:

Second item of business; volunteers; is anyone willing to volunteer their time to help during the convention, or host a workshop? Not only will this allow for some positive recognition of the 405th, but it can also get you free passes to the convention.

Third item of business; Important News;

• Special booking rates with the Sheraton Guildford Hotel will end September 15th. If you are planning to stay at the convention hotel and want to receive a discounted rate, book before September 2nd. Otherwise regular rates will apply.
• Online registration ends September 15th. If you want to pre-register for VCON, register online before September 15th.
