Hey, I just joined this forum and yours is the first project I've seen. I'm very impressed and inspired! I wanted to create a costume like yours for my son. I will follow your lead. Keep up the good work.

First of all Welcome to 405th!

No worries! Everyone is welcome to use my armor as reference or inspiration or whatever! I'm glad you've taken time to do this for your son. Although I'm guessing you already know the basics? If not I'm here for any questions you might have.

Thanks for stoppin by my thread, CSI!

UPDATE!!

Haven't been doing much progress since last time but I have made the basic plans for the forearms.

I also changed priorities a bit. I'm going to finish the forearms first then I'll go down to the legs starting with the thighs.

I know the plans look kind of short in length but I'll fix that later.

The forearm in the background is actually the first piece I tackled but turned out bad and I didnt like the overall model.

UPDATE!!

Resized the forearm and ready for cutting. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410995399.296297.jpg

Still making slow progress but I'll get back on track once the forearms are done. These will probably take more time since I'm remaking them.

Edit - I had to resize it again so the pic is inaccurate.

UPDATE!!

Yay the first piece for the forearm is cut heres a little preview of it...

Im hoping to have both of each of the arms done by the middle of of next week. If not then I'll have to work faster.

Again these are my own templates. I'll be sure to scan them and post them on here for your own convenience.

UPDATE!!

Wow! I'm really happy with how the forearm came out!! All I need is the outer details obviously.

The next forearm will be built much faster because I won't need to do much thinking anymore!

I actually took the video by using Apple's IOS 8's new TimeLapse feature. In my opinion, that was the most useful feature for IOS 8 ;)

The detail is remarkable. What's your plan for the under suite? And attaching the cod piece?

Currently, I'm in no plan in making an under suit basically because of the time constraints. I was thinking on using Soccer compression shirt. This one

And using an all black sweatpants. With the armor pieces, it'll look like skin tight. Mainly because I don't want to spend a lot of money just for skin tight pants.

As for the cod and butt piece, I'm going to use velcro on the underside.

Thanks for stoppin by!!

UPDATE!!

Look what came in the mail!!
I got the MC helmet from XCoser a company that makes props for games and stuff. Its not the best but it sure is good to have it already..

Your foam work and weathering look great. I'm still trying to get the hang of pepakura myself but hopefully my foam will look that great eventually.
