So this will be my first time ever handling foam and building a suit. Let me say, my patience has been tested but luckily with the support of the halo community and some refreshing brew has helped. lol

First i want to say thanks to Evakura and his tutorials and thanks to ChefBzd with the help he provided with sizing and awesome tips.

Did the Bicep first, as you can see i kinda measured it a "tad" too large, second time around was better lol



Then worked on the shoulders, should be done with the other side this week and then onto the forearms.



Any feedback is greatly appreciated as Im new to this and would like to learn more "tricks and tips"

Thank you very much! You should try foam, its fun and you get to see progress relatively quick compared to fiberglass/resin.

I will. Sorry to bother you but I haven't studied up on it much and I'm sure this information is around, but can I ask you where you purchased you foam?

No bother, just ask away and i'll try to answer and if not, i'm sure the veterans on the site here will help. A lot of helpful people on this site. I use 1/2'' eva foam for the base, i bought it at harbor freight, here is the link:

I usually pick up 2 packs at a time, super cheap and great stuff. The other sizes i use are 6mm and 2mm craft foam that you can pick up at Joan Fabric or Michaels for cheap, like .69 cents or a $1.5 depending if there is a sale.

This looks great. I am in the middle of working on my helmet. I started with the shins and had to start over two or three times lol. It's definitely nerve wracking trying to get foam to do what you want and look symmetrical!

Is that a legendary halo tat on your right fore arm?

I can fully relate on starting over a few times but I take it as practice and the next one will be even better...i hope lol. If you haven't yet, check out EVAkura profile and his videos on youtube, he shows you how manipulate foam a lot.

And yes, yes it is. lol good observation, sir! :lol

I'm about to try my first build using foam, so do you just print out pepakura and use it as a stencil or just wing it?
