Hey! I just got my PG Gundam Astray Red Frame Model Kit today and I started putting it together. I decided to share my progress with everyone since this model kit is so new. I hope you enjoy seeing my progress as much as I have fun making this model!

The Arrival

This is the box the model kit comes in so you can keep an eye out for it when you go to your next con or find it online.

The Box again but this time the Bonus Pre-order box is with it. This box contains extra parts like clear armor and extra weapons. I'm not going to use the armor but the weapons include a second sword!

Day One:

Construction begins on the same day as arrival. Here you see all the piece boards from the main box. I'm leaving the bonus box for later.

Here we have the feet! Time to complete: 1h 10m The detail on each foot was amazing as the grade states they are perfect!

Please excuse the quality couldn't really get it any better. But oh yes that right, those are rubber soles on the feet and they really do help against skid!

That's all for Day One. Stay tuned for more as I progress!

Woah! That's cool!

I'd be excited to work on it, until I saw Day 1. Then I would probably start crying. lol
I built a model car once, it was complicated enough for me.

Keep going, I'm excited to see it finished.

A PG Red Frame? Nice! I need to start paying closer attention to the new Gundam models coming out.

If only Bandai would make a PG Ingram 98....

I'm with Loess. It's hard enough even finding the old MG 1/100 Ingrams nowadays.

I have both a PG Wing Zero and a PG Eva Unit-01 and I have to say that the biggest time theifs on both were panel lines (I reccomend a .25 mm Micron pen) and the electronics. Also be careful not to strip the plastic on the little screws that hold the endoskeleton together.

It's kind of funny though, I haven't built a single model since I started making armor...

wow i read the title wrong i thought it said ash tray.... and the part sticking out of his leg loogs like a smoke.... sorry but i misread... and how much did that cost? it looks awesome

lol it does

I'm not very into Gundam, but I have a weak spot for model building. Wow, that thing has a lot of parts, good luck on it.

About 25.000 Yen so about $250. Expect to find it at cons for any where between $399 to $499.

Day Two: Leg Frame Assembly
Time to Complete: 1h 30min (excluding break)

Hi there! Day two finishes up the frame of the legs. I'm holding off on putting the armor pieces to show off the detail that goes into the inner workings. Enjoy the pics!

Crap pics! Again sorry. But there is a ton of details in these bad puppies!

There is a ton of articulating pieces in these legs. More than a simple action figure!

Plates on the thighs slide as the legs bend. There are hidden pistons along them too!

Until next time!

no digital camera? or phone cam is what i think for it.. its really good lookin.. beats my model of the titanic!

I've never understood all the hype about this model. You like what you like, but I just don't see the appeal.

Yeah, it's a nice looking model, but I'd take a PG Zaku II over this any day.

Day 3: Center-Line Frame
Time: 2 Hours

Center-Line includes the cod-piece, lower torso and upper torso. To me this is the the pinnacle moment of the build because it can nearly define the final height of the project. :D And this mother is big! Enjoy!

Awesome detail throughout is just overwhelming!

Close-up for the front. Yes that is the cockpit and it does open.

Back detail. There is a thruster pack that I'll add later.

Checking out the piston detail and there is the open cockpit

Next comes the Arms which will be awesome as the hands are fully articulated. Till next time!
