I bought a jar of mod podge hard coat and put it in a size tester, and after 2 coats, it was considerably harder, non toxic and water based!
Has any one else used this stuff and more importantly, has it worked for you?
It could reduce the need for casting something because its lighter than bondo.

I don't think mod podge would support the bondo enough for it to prevent cracking. It is like white glue, yes?

yeah it is,
it says six layers thickly spread though, then two as an outer protective shell, its getting pretty damn strong

Have you tried this, Im curious as to how well it would work. Also is it sandable? Iv'e seen sanded down white glue and I'm tellin you it aint a pretty.

i have tried it, the size tester that i tested it on warped like there was no tomorrow, primarily because i was an idiot and did it all in one go, not in sections like you're supposed to.
You wouldn't sand the inside though would you?
and you could put bondo on the outside, covering the glue.
They do say you can sand it though.

From my experience with a 90% finished paper mache helmet and Mod Podge, it's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to sand. If you want elite-worthy armor, don't go this route unless you're in an art class that calls for a paper mache project. D:
