Construction Method Used

SO here is how Im working with the foam. Sorry its links again but the insert image thing isn't working again for me. The pictures are under a "How To" folder in my DeviantArt profile.

First I trace a major part of a Pepakura plan out.

Then I cut the part out with a utility knife.

With THe part cut out, I needed to bevel the edges to allow the pieces to go together at an angle, so I used a sanding wheel to bevel the edges of my pieces.

Then I glued the pieces together using a High Temperature Hot Glue Gun

Yep if you guys have any questions feel free to ask

nice work. wish i had a sanding wheel. How much dust does that foam shoot out when your sanding it?

Surprisingly not much dust but I think thats because my sanding wheel has a catch built in to catch as much dust as possible. Though some dust still gets all over my floor.

Make sure that you wear a dust mask or respirator because I just found out that another EVA foam mat manufacturer indicated that their mats have lead in it and you should wash your hands after handling it. Also, vacuum the dust right away just to be safe.

oh jeez thanks for the info, I had no idea.

Nice, i didnt know you where on 405th as well as Deviant Art! Ive been watching your build from DA. Your build is starting to come together nicely! Have you tried any of the plastidip yet?

very good work!
though if you want to share the images rather than the links to DA, you;ll have to upload them at somewhere like photobucket.

deviant art doesn't let people post pics like you may have attempted

for some reason, I can't put the image into the thread. The insert image thing won't work every time I try

Been Watchin your Build Torres. It's lookin fantastic.
On post #25 you said you didn't like how the hot knife cut the Foam. I found a difference with brands and blades. I have to keep my mess down to keep the wife happy. But I found Hobbico Hotknives and #11 Blades worked the best. The scalpul Blades worked too. Sliced it like butter. Just throwing an idea in to keep mess down.
