The Ultimate Pepakura FAQ

So now that I have "finished" my suit (im still working on the bondo smoothing). I have built and resined the Halo Reach Sniper rifle. I know how I want to harden the rifle and that is by rondo but I can seem to find any tutorials on how to do it. Ive been looking for the past few days and havent found much of anything helpful. If anyone could send me a tutorial that would be great! Thanks in advance.

I accidentally broke it in half when it dropped. It's on hiatus while I work on an assault rifle and ODST helmet.

That sux, I made a pistol and slushed chopped fiber with Aqua Resin and it is very rigid plus it was the exploded model. Trying to get all the pieces to stay together is another story.

Im not sure if this is the place to go for HELP on Pepakura, but I'm going to ask anyways. After applying the fiberglass on the inside of Pepakura Helmets, what type of padding do people use for the snug fit? I assume like motorcycle helmets there must be some sort of padding to separate fiberglass from the head and to give a firm fit to the head. And is there a tutorial or can anyone give me instructions on how to apply this?

It seems that everyone does something different. Some install the pads that go into a motorcycle helmet, some just use EVA foam or egg crate foam. Personally, I use poly-fil foam sewn into cotton/poly fabric, which I then secure in place with velcro; giving me this...

For a mini tutorial on how I do this, you can check this post in my build thread...

For future reference, this is more of a padding/strapping question, for which a Help! series thread exists in the NOOB Forum stickies.

So uhm, all of the stickies are down.... or not clickable :3 or maybe i'm just really noobish....

Hi,
I am wondering how pepakura handles non-planar faces. I want to build a model with metal sheets that can't be bent. Do I have to triangulate the whole model to be sure that all faces are flat ? Is there an other way ?

Thanks in advance,

Vincent

I'm newish to the forums, I have searched the internet high and low and I wasn't sure of how to start a new thread. I'm thinking this is the spot that I may ask this question. If not I'm sure it will be moved. Ok to my question... Four Seven Niner's helmet and armor from Red Vs Blue!!! I cannot find a pepakura file for it anywhere. I know its just a basic Halo 4 helmet. But I cannot find anyone who has a file or posted a pep file for this helmet or armor. Can anyone help me out? I'm shocked she isn't a more popular character and that no one has built on her yet. If anyone can help please reply. Thanks!!! :)

From which season of RvB? As far as I know, Four-Seven-Niner was only in the Halo 3 portion, and wore the naval pilot helmet, which can be found here: http://www.405th.com/file-archive.php?categoryid=52

If you want the Reach version: http://www.405th.com/file-archive.php?do=download&downloadid=905

Other than that, I couldn't find a pilot helmet for Halo 4. :/

yeah looks like you were right about the Naval Pilot Helmet, its the closest thing I have seen to it thus far. On the Netflix version of RvB it was Season 2 episode 6 or 7 where you see her. Wiki has some stuff on her but not much. Thanks for the help :)

I found an easy way to figure out how to find out inches from millimeters for pepakura if you have an iPhone just ask Siri!!
Example ask Siri what 200 millimeters is in inches and she will tell you!! I hope this helps!

This is incredibly helpful. Even though I've done a large amount of research, this has helped to answer any other lingering questions.

[EDIT] I didn't like what I typed before. I'm still getting used to using the forums here. The post I made was irrelevent to the topic here. My bad.

Anyways, again thanks for the information and the links. I'll make sure not to ask nooby questions in the future again.
