Hi and welcome to the 405th. This is the advice that Roadkiller gives the noobs. I followed it and it worked for me.

From Roadkiller:
"That's a pretty general question. You're going to need to so some research on your own in order to ask a question that the folks here can answer in detail.

There is a lot of information around, but I'd suggest you start by:

Watching this orientation video:

That's a start only. There is lots more reading required! Have fun learning! "

So my $0.10 worth. Take the time to read, read some more and study, study all the sticky's. This is not a hobby you just dabble in. If you're serious then you have to commit to learning and practicing. If you have a personality that has trouble with failure then you may be frustrated. If you love detail and starting with nothing and finishing with something very cool - you will love this hobby.

If you do the leg work, do the reading, try some of these techniques and then ask focused questions - you will have all the help you can stand. If you just ask the fast, lazy question. You'll tick off the veterans and be short on help.

Visogoth, good post.
Uber, you should read all the stickies they are a guide to building the armor of your choice. However if you find that you are having trouble in a area or just need some feedback, this is the area to post your questions or comments. Keep in mind you may have some problems at first but, start small like with a hand plate saving the helmet for last. If you have any questins just PM me and I'll be happy to help.
