Well Blackula sent me an offer i couldn't refuse. So from now on he will be in charge for molding and distributing The Pilot Helmet.

looking over this build just makes me inspired. I love your armor. It was my original inspiration for foam armor and I often reference your work to help with my own. I would truly like to say thank you for sharing with the forum.

I can't wait to see the helmet molded. I'd love to get my hands on a cast.

thanks for that! i was looking through it, and found they sell an anti fog acrylic, i smell a fan eliminator

Here are some Great video's by 405th's own BenStreeper about foam armoring

His videos helped me when I just started out with foam.

1. There no need for the tabs when your foam building. Just remember if the piece your gluing is folded up or down.

2. That is something you'll find out on you own, and it also depends on what your doing. I love putting clumps of bondo on what ever im do. Its just going to be sanded down any way. But start out little by little. Very little. You wouldn't want your bondo to get hard in mid application. Waste of money right.

3. We all have different methods. I just hot glue lol.

4. A raw cast will be $100. plus $20 shipping

Nick Nack Wackula...lol REMIX!

Okay, So I got this hunk of junk in the mail the other day…lol. J/K, It’s beautiful. Nick Nack had told me it needed a little love, so hopefully you guys can agree that it found some..lol

Whats a new helm without a little Bathroom modeling.Lol

Heres what Im doing to it. Not changing much, just correcting a symmetry issue in the back and filling some small holes & finally, smoothing out the visor form a tad more.

This is not wet paint, just been buffed like a crazy smoothing maniac..lol. I want to make sure I can pull a nice smooth visor off of it.

Also, tightened this line up a little, needs to be sanded a bit more and to break out the needle files

All in all, not much more to do other than some clean up sanding, shoot in with primer & start the molding process.

Well, let me know if it looks like its being taken care of.

I have a question for you or anyone with experience. I'm guessing you used the VHT nite-shade to darken your visor so how well does it cover your face, like can people see the face at all even when they stand up close and how clear is your own vision? if so how many coats did you apply to the plastic for that to be achieved. And finally I did buy a tinted visor but the tint isn't as dark as i wanted it to be and people can make the rough outline of my eyes and face through it. so I was wondering if its possible to use the nite shade on a tinted visor.

Thanks my man! I'm trying..lol. Yeah, Nick Nack has become my west coast prop oracle lately. Been bouncing ideas off each other. He's full of them.

Haha good point, the helmet pull will look great because of all that crazy maniac buffing. Great work!
