Halo Reach Spartan Build - First Project (Pic Heavy)

Ok guys, so I've started my very first Halo project and I must say I'm pretty excited. This is something I've wanted to do for awhile. Anyway, so I find myself with a lot of free time right now so that's helpful, and I'm hoping to complete this within the next month and a half or so if time allows. Eventually I'm looking at making the whole suit, but this seemed like the logical place to start for a build virgin. So please tell me what you think.

Thanks to BenStreeper and Rundown

Took this pic at a friend's house. First time I've ever noticed the address.

I really thought the blacklight really added something to the look of it

Also, I have some friends who are interested in making some armor, but didn't want to search the net as intensely as I did. So, I decided to make some tutorials to them, and anyone else, out. I hope this helps consolidate a lot of the info that everyone kind of gets from all around.

I would love some feedback!

that looks great! :D I tried doing the same model, but I failed most epically because I tried it as my first helmet XD

Well this is my first project... o_0 I'm hoping I got the measurements right, after pep it looked a little big but as it coming along it looks like it may actually work.

And I'm trying to get some more work done on this, but work is busy right now. Backed up on some projects. But hopefully October will be very productive for me.

Alright so a quick update on where I am so far:

I bought a little cheapy rotary tool from Harbor Freight for about $7. Bad idea. I've been trying to cut out my visor with it and so far it has taken me a total of about 4 hours to cut all but the top edge. I'll probably wait until I go to my parents house on Thanksgiving to borrow my dad's high-end Dremel. After that, Bondo, etc.

I have a good lead on an undersuit. Itech is a hockey gear company that makes what they call the Ultimate Senior Full Length One Piece suit (JP510) (See here: http://www.hockeygiant.com/itch09uflopstsr.html). Looks like it would be good for all weather and more tactical than Under Armour.

Also, since I knew I wouldn't be able to finish things by Halloween, I instead swapped very quickly to another cosplay idea, and have put together a (except for a couple items) screen accurate Resident Evil: Apocalypse UBCS Centurion outfit. It looks pretty good, from accurate patches right down to an ID I made for myself. If anyone is interested in seeing some of that, while it isn't Halo, I would be willing to post it since it is still costuming.

To wrap things up, helmet should be done sometime around the holidays, with the rest of the armor coming along in the springtime.

That undersuit looks like it could be pretty good, especially if you can add foam and paint for detailing. Best of all it's cheap and makes you look pretty buff. Great find!
