Hello everyone!
Since foam is such a great material for amror and prop making, we have chosen to use this technique to make most of the armor sets we need for the movie.
One of the most difficult builds is, with no doubt, the ODST armor.
At first, we didn't even know what version of the ODST we should make.
-The Halo 2 version wasn't what we were looking for,since it's far too different from all the other designs;
-The Halo 3 version is simple, easy to make, and with a nice design, sealed and heavy;
-The Halo3 ODST version looked too much like a "little spartan", plus, it would take an enormous amount of material and time to make one;
-The Halo Reach version is, by my opinion, the best one, since we can re-use the blueprints of the standard marine armor and then add the ODST components later,keeping the levels of detail and the cost of the build balanced.
So, after a week of planning and hard work, we came up with this:
Now I'm planning to build an improved version of this armor , closer to the Halo Reach design.
I'm going to post here all the updates regarding the project(which includes a foam ODST helmet).
Let me know what you think and, if you have, any kind of suggestion and/or question.
Thanks!
